Ms. Diane Stitt

STITT, Ms. Diane - Age 71, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Grace Hospice. Family hour 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2012 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Tuesday. Ms. Stitt will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Monday. MS. DIANE WRIGHT-STITT was born April 26, 1942 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Mr. Samuel E. Wright and Dorothy Jean White. Ms. Wright-Stitt grew up and resided in Flint, Michigan all of her life. She graduated from Northern High School and in her younger years was employed as a talented musician and singer at various churches in the Flint, Michigan area. During the latter years of her life before she succumbed to her illness she was employed as a senior tutor for Flint Community Schools and she also worked as a Childcare Provider. Ms. Diane as many called her loved to care for her grandchildren, play the piano, cook, tell jokes, rap, read and watch her favorite television shows including: Law and Order and Nancy Grace. Ms Diane’s greatest pleasure in life came from her personal relationship with God which she expressed on a daily basis through prayer. She leaves to cherish her memory: (five children) 2 daughters, Pamela Jackson of South Carolina and Quanise L. Stitt of Flint; 3 sons, Marlon V. Gillespie of Ypsilanti, MI, Delrico M. Stittt and Delricus A. Stitt, both of Flint; 7 grandchildren, Shabrise S. Stitt, Titiana S. Stitt, Parrish J. Godard, Dajuan J. Godard, Shatona J. Godard, all of Flint, MI, Nevaeh Gillespie and Averieana Gillespie, both of Ypsilanti, MI; 7 great-grandchildren, Shabrion R. Edwards, Skye K. Stitt- Hampton, Kendrick M. Peters Jr., all of Flint and 4 in South Carolina; sister, Celestine (Ronald) Turner of Flint; 3 nephews, Antonio Webb, Steven Webb and Ronald Turner Jr., all of Flint; a host of other relatives and special friends including: Mrs. Cookie, cousin, Doris, Mrs. Precious Wright, Mrs. Emma Anthony, Mrs. Susan Bell, Mrs. Annie M. Hodo, Mrs. Jeaneen Jackson, Mrs. Betty Parks, Mrs. Gladys Reese, Mrs. Tina Brent-Streeter, Mrs. Sparkle Taylor, Mrs. Viola Thomas, Mrs. Turner. Ms. Diane Wright-Stitt was preceded in death by: her mother, Dorothy Jean White; father Samuel E. Wright; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Marie Allen and Elmer Wright; brothers, Forest Wright and Milfred Rice III; sister and brother-in-law, T.C. and Alma Gillespie. The family would like to express special thanks to: Dr. A. Daly; the Grace Hospice Family including: Gina Shuster M.S.W, Melinda Piersall R.N and Tina Posey C.N.A and Chaplain, JoeAnn Carrigan-Brasfield. All of the neighbors who reside on Wellington Ave., 7th St. and 8th St. who helped Ms. Diane in her time of need.
