Mr. Destin Durran Ross

ROSS, Mr. Destin Durran - Age 27, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle, 930 E. Myrtle Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Stephen Murphy, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Ross will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Destin Durran Ross was born December 9, 1995, in the midst of an ice storm. He was destine to be here. He was born to Dionna Ross and Orraccious “Rayshow” Brown, but was raised by Dionna Ross and Julius Allen, Sr. Destin was a graduate of Carmen Ainsworth High School, Class of 2014. He sang in Neithercutt Honors Choir, was a youth usher, a member of the Alpha Esquires and participated in his school fashion shows. He briefly attended Marygrove College briefly and worked a few skilled labor jobs. He was very talented at drawing, extremely creative owning a clothing line called Omerta, loved laughing and joking, a competitive gamer, a lover of rap (he was so proud of his rap artist brothers, Louie Ray and Rio Da Yung OG) and he was huge on friendship, family and loyalty. Destin had a big heart and loved hard. Destin Durran Ross leaves to cherish his precious memory: parents, Dionna Ross, Julius Allen, Sr. and Orraccious “Ray Show” Brown; grandmothers, “super special” “Ranny” Jethene Ross, Arnitha Starling, Cynthia Brown; great grandmother, Lottie Ross; sisters, Brittany Gray, Julissa Allen, Janiyah Gipson, Raquandra Brown; brothers, Julius Allen, Jr., Orraccious “Louie Ray” Tucker, Albert Lee, DeMario “Rio Da Young OG” McCullough and many other siblings; cousin/brother, Donovan Arnold; god sister, Jacquella Green; aunts, Da’Shawn Ross and Tamara Wright; uncle, Reese Wilson, Sr.; great aunts, Claudette Brandon, Juanita (Reese) Wells, Ruby (Tony) Earnest, Vivian (Warren) Stocker; great uncles, Maxie (Margaret) Brandon, Shawn (Veronica) Ross, Laverne (Dina) Ross, Jason Ross; and a host of other relatives and friends, especially the Ross, Peterson, Roland, Brandon, Quarles family. As well as other relatives too numerous to name but are on our minds and in our hearts. Destin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Ross; great grandparents, Max and Dezeray Brandon and Ed Ross; aunts, Delanie Blassingame and Terry Anderson; uncle, Frederick Brown; godfather, Barney Sorrells; and many other loved ones.
