Mr. Derrick Roberts

ROBERTS, Mr. Derrick - Age 47, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Willowbrook Manor. Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, May 27, 2022, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Friday. Mr. Roberts will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Mr. Derrick “Jabo Mack” Roberts was born May 27, 1974 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Arthur L. and Patricia Roberts. Derrick was a life long resident of Flint and attended Flint Community Schools. At a young age he was baptized at the now New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Odis A. Floyd. Derrick enjoyed spending time with his children, family and friends. He grew up in the “Pierson Hood” which he represented to the fullest especially “Parkway Ave.” where he resided all his life. Derrick enjoyed listening to music, especially his favorite artist “Too Short”. He also enjoyed playing Dominos, barbecues, card games, dogs, fishing, going to the casino and most of all his cars. Even though Derrick suffered from diabetes, he did not let that stop him. He was humorous, outspoken and a protector of his family. Derrick was an awesome person. Mr. Derrick “Jabo Mack” Roberts leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Sonya Roberts; 3 daughters, Kalen (Lance) Henge, Tyasia Roberts, all of Richland Hills, TX and Aubrie O’Dell of Midland, MI; mother, Patricia Roberts; 6 sisters, Latrice Greene, LaWanda Roberts, Moneisha Calhoun, Alyssa (Adrian) Brown, Tamaria Laster, all of Flint and Rachel Laster of Crossroads, TX; 2 brothers, Grady (Precious) Roberts of Flint and Johnathon Jeffries of Plano, TX; 5 nieces, Je’Tevia Roberts, Ja’Neika Roberts, Jamaica Roberts, Amena Hutchinson and Asia Moye; 4 nephews, Jesse Greene Jr., Raheem Hutchinson, Marlon Moye Jr., all of Flint and Ishmael Roberts of San Antonio, TX; great-nieces, Siani Roberts, Alayiah Greene, Island Crockett, Loyalty Chaney, Myani Martin, MiLeah McKnuckle, Caidence Greene and Honesty Chaney; great-nephews, LaMarion Tapplin, Simyon Tapplin and Acknowledge Roberts; 5 aunts, Leola (Barbra) Summers of Flushing, MI, Alesia (Ronald) Peaks of Grand Blanc, MI, Mary Louise Roberts of Los Angeles, CA, Rev.
