REDWINE, Mr. Derrick M. - Age 43, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Redwine will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Derrick Maurice Redwine was born December 3, 1967 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Evelyn Redwine and the late Waverly Peterman. Derrick attended Flint Community Schools where he gained an interest in drawing. He loved spending time with his family, partying, having a good time, watching sports and renovating houses. Mr. Derrick Maurice Redwine leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Yvonne of Flint; loving daughter, Kisswaunna of Clarksville, TN; stepchildren, Tevin and Keith Thomas; mother, Evelyn Redwine; stepfather; Melvin Gray; mother-in-law, Glory Riggs; step-grandmother, Betty Redwine, all of Flint; sisters, Demetrice Redwine-Davis of Mt. Morris, MI, Patrice Redwine (Michael) Shumate of Grand Blanc, MI; brother, Andre Redwine; special aunt, Charlotte “Gail” Redwine, Joanne (Antonio) Berry, all of Flint and Thelma Redwine of Arkansas; uncles, Jerome, Gregory, Eleazer, Jr., all of Flint and Melvin Redwine of Detroit, MI; special great aunt, Cleveann Posey; great aunts, Virginia Redwine, both of Mt. Morris, MI, Juanita Walton of Mansfield, TX and Thelma Redwine of Birmingham, AL; great uncles, Willie Lee and L.V. Redwine; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special niece, “Kidda Bird” and special friend, Milton “Huffy” Allen. Mr. Redwine was preceded in death by his father, Waverly Peterman; brother, Calvin Sibley; grandparents, Louise (Redwine) and John Crowder and Eleazer Redwine, Sr.; great-grandparents, Bennie and Berda Walls, Cleveland Davis, Leola Redwine, George and Thelma Redwine; uncles, Archie, Larry, Roderick “Van” and Douglas Redwine; great-uncle, Archie Davis; niece, Nicole Tyler; a host of great aunts and uncles and cousins. The family would like to express special thanks to the ER and surgical staff at Hurley Medical Center, Pastor Ryan Mixon, Pastor Rodney Ellison, and to everyone who assisted the family during this bereavement hour.
