Deonte Robinson

ROBINSON, Mr. Deonte Romell - Age 21, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Gene Buggs officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Robinson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Deonte Romell Robinson was born February 16, 1990, to the parents of Wanda Mitchell and Alphonzo Robinson. Deonte was raised in Flint, Michigan and accepted Christ at a very young age. He attended Flint Community Schools and received his G.E.D. in 2010. Deonte was devoted to all his siblings and childhood friends. At a very young age, he developed his self-independence by cutting grass and cleaning up at Mac’s Barbershop. He followed in the footsteps of his stepfather, Lance Bowers, Sr., learning the trade of Heating and Cooling and Home Repairs. In April of 2009, he married Janell Thompson to this union one child was born. He enjoyed raising his 3 year old daughter, Dalana Robinson and was looking forward to raising his unborn son, Deonte Romell Robinson, Jr. Mr. Deonte Romell Robinson leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Janell Robinson; daughter, Dalana Ra’niya Robinson; godson, Trayveonte “Fatty Boy” Funches; parents, Wanda Mitchell and Alphonzo Robinson; stepfather, Lance Bowers, Sr.; grandparents, Douglas McGruder and Diane Robinson, all of Flint; 2 sisters, Alisha Robinson of Jackson, TN and Diane Robinson of Kalamazoo, MI; 3 brothers, Alphonzo Robinson, Jr., Aaron Robinson and Lance Bowers, Jr., all of Flint; nephew, Savontest Starling, Jr.; 3 aunts, Judy Balknight, Balinda Mitchell and Angel McGruder; uncle, William Mitchell; sister-in-law, Keba Watson; 3 brothers-in-law, Jewell Davis, Jr., Shanon and Darnell Baker, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his grandfather. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Hurley Medical Center, Pastor Gene A. Buggs and close friends.
