WASHINGTON, Ms. Denean Alesia - Age 51, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 12:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2016 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:00 PM Saturday. Ms. Washington will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Ms. Denean Alesia Washington was born April 12, 1965 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Arvis “Buck” and Marguerite Washington. She attended Flint Beecher High School where she was a member of the Marching Band. Denean graduated from Flint Northern High School. She continued her studies at Detroit College of Business earning a degree in Business Administration. Denean adored her son, Daurel. She enjoyed attending his school functions such as bowling matches and football games. Denean also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was the first person to get the game of Spades started during family gatherings. Denean’s hobbies included home improvement projects, yard work and washing cars. She was a faithful member of House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church where she loved serving the Lord. You could often hear her singing her favorite gospel songs. Denean enjoyed helping people. Her life’s work was dedicated to helping special needs and elderly adults. She was employed at Maplewood Manor in Clio, MI as an Environmental Services Director. Ms. Denean Alesia Washington leaves to cherish her sweet memories: only son, Daurel Tolbert; mother, Marguerite Washington; 3 sisters, Danna (Elroy) Robinson, Deanna Washington and Debbie Washington, all of Flint; 2 brothers, Derrick (Cynthia) Washington of New Orleans, LA and Darryl (Sonya) Washington; 3 aunts, Emily Edwards and Lorraine Crowder, all of Flint and Delores Taylor of Saginaw, MI; 2 uncles, Clyde Adams of Hazlehurst, MS and Landon Taylor , Jr. of Saginaw, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends including special friends, Lisa and Sheryl Payton, Willie Jenkins, Micheal Greer, Curtis Johnson and Jack Tolbert, Jr. Ms. Washington was preceded in death by her father, Arvis Washington; grandmothers, Martha Adams and Corrine Taylor; grandfathers, Emmit Adams and Landon Taylor; aunts, Maggie Anderson, Maryann Ezell and Joyce Washington; uncles, William Adams and John Henry Washington.
