LEWIS, Mrs. Deloris "Tootsie" - Age 85, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, February 27, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, 2020 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 Monday. Mrs. Lewis will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E, Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Sunday. Mrs. Deloris Ann Lewis “Tootsie” was born December 2, 1937 in Huntsville, Alabama, the daughter of Charlie and Katherine Sales. Deloris was small in stature, LARGE in personality. She was known as a nurturer. Being it babies, the ailing or her beloved flowers, all flourished under her care. Her talented hands created the same amount of magic in the kitchen as they did in her flowerbeds. Deloris was never one to shy away from saying what was on her mind. Her legendary words always came straight from the heart. As the matriarch of the family she ruled on the foundation of love and family. A foundation WE will have to stand upon to navigate in her absence. Mrs. Deloris Ann Lewis “Tootsie” leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Cathy (Marlon) Mitchell of Grand Blanc, MI; son, Keith (Lin) Lewis of Flint; grandchildren, Monique Ford of Grand Blanc, MI, Keven Lewis of Flint, Keyasha Lewis of Orange County, CA, Denisha Lewis of Cleveland, OH, Bianca Ford of Ypsilanti, MI and Jazzman Lewis of Cleveland, OH; great-grandchildren, Jalisa and Michael Edmonson of Cleveland, OH, AaLiyah and Cashius Riggins of Orange County, CA; 2 sisters, Brenda Sales of Mt. Morris, MI and Mary Katherine Jones of Huntsville, AL; 2 brothers, Thomas Sales of Nashville, TN and Wendell Sales of Huntsville, AL; 3 nieces; 4 nephews including special nephew, Terrance Sales; 2 uncles, Thomas “Butch” McCray of Huntsville, AL and Al Ervin (Sunny) of Columbus, OH; a host of cousins including special cousins, Tiffany Washington and Janiero Jones; a host of other relative and friends including special neighbors, Ms. Florence Simpson and Dorothy Payton. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her son, Keven Lewis; parents, Charlie and Katherine Sales; sister, Deborah Sales; brother, Charlie Sales; and special aunts, Nannie Sales and Jessie Mae Leslie.
