Mrs. Deloris E. Campbell

CAMPBELL, Mrs. Deloris E.- Age 85, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 her residence. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Pastor John Jenkins officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Campbell will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Deloris E. Campbell was born November 25, 1929 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of William and Isophene McCohron. She was a resident of Flint. Deloris was one of the founding member of Second Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She was a leading background singer for the The Gospel Five, directed by Milton Thomas. Deloris attended Flint Public Schools and graduating from Flint Central High School. She was a homemaker and thoroughly enjoyed singing, reading and writing poetry and loved playing bingo. “Gran” loved to be around her family. Mrs. Deloris E. Campbell leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Renee (Mac) Gentry of Flint; son, Robert Pollard of Niles, MI; grandchildren, Armena Pollard of Detroit, MI. Jeffrey Pollard, Corey Stram, Vashawn Brooks, Van (Pamela) Pollard, D’Naya (Charles) Coleman, Swela Burns, Ranetta Pollard, all of Flint and Tanzenia Conner of Newport News, VA; a host of great-grandchildren including special great-grandsons, Dequan and Macale Coleman; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; mother-in-law, Rosie Lee Campbell; 2 sisters-in-law, Lucendia (Owen) Monday and Rosa Mary (Napoleon) Gill, both of Lansing, MI; 2 brothers-in-law, McKinley Campbell, all of Lansing, MI and Jimmy Williams of Denver, CO; a host of other relatives and friend including special friends, Margret Johnson, Gene Harris. Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Campbell; son, Quincy Pollard; parents William and Isophene McCohron and biological mother, Mary Lee Williams. The family would like to express special thanks to RN Melissa and CAN Shirley of Gentiva, Renee Gentry and Jimmie Stubbs.
