Elder Delores Vaughn

VAUGHN, Elder Delores - Age 81, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024 at her residence. Family hour 12:00 PM Saturday, February 24, 2024 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM. Pastor Janard Lakes, officiating, Pastor Alfred J. Harris, Jr. Host Pastor. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:00 PM Saturday. Elder Vaughn will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Elder Delores Vaughn was born December 26, 1942 in Texarkana, Texas, the daughter of Colonel and Eliza Lee, Sr. She later relocated to Flint, Michigan, where she met and married the love of her life Deacon William Vaughn Jr. Delores was a School Administrator and Governmental Employee. She was known as a nurturer raising her children and rearing many that she loved as her own. Elder Vaughn was a Charter Member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, formerly known as Missionary Baptist Church. Delores was also the first secretary for New Jerusalem, where she sang in the Choir, started a sewing class and curated the bookstore. Elder Vaughn was a devoted Intercessor, taught Sunday School, the Marriage Class with her husband, Deacon William Vaughn and a weekly Young Women’s Bible class. Delores spear headed the Evangelism Ministry, with a love for Evangelism. She had a prophetic ear to hear and declared God’s word. Elder Vaughn attended Sunshine Bible College, Agape Faith Fellowship Bible Training Academy and graduated with a Bachelor Degree from Bethlehem Bible College. She was a chaplain, ordained minister, and hosted a weekly show “Healing is The Children’s Bread” on WFLT. Elder Vaughn was also an integral part of Victorious Christian Women’s Ministry. Delores loved, shopping, traveling, and spending, times with family, especially the Lee Sisters Sewing Circle. Elder Delores Vaughn leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Angela Vaughn; son, William (Angel Pirani) Vaughn III; grandchildren, Terrence J.
