ALSTON, Ms. Delois Kaye - Age 58, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday December 19, 2015 at First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 1226 Beach St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Ezra Tillman officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy, Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Ms. Alston will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday. Ms. Delois Kaye Alston made the transition to her heavenly home on December 12, 2015. A woman of unparalleled faith and conviction, her loved ones find comfort in knowing that she has reunited with the Lord. Ms. Delois Kaye Alston was born on August 21, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Aurelious Sr. and Julia (Cook) Alston. Even at an early age, she was always full of life, showing love and compassion to all she met. Delois was a graduate of Flint Central High School and upon completion took a position at General Motors. Later in life, she returned to school and received of Bachelors of Arts in communication from the University of Michigan-Flint. A vibrant soul, her pastimes included reading the Bible, collecting antiques, talking with friends, and running errands with her mother. In 1980, Delois found tremendous joy in the birth of her only son, David Wilson. She enjoyed watching David mature into a wonderful, loving young man. Delois gained a daughter in-law in 2009, and a grand daughter in 2010. To say that she loved her family is an understatement. Her son and granddaughter were the pride of her life. Delois absolutely adored everything about them. She loved teaching her granddaughter to cook, reading stories with her and making trips to the dollar store. Ms. Delois Kaye Alston leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved son, David (Shannon) Wilson; granddaughter, Kaelyn “Kae” Wilson, all of Grand Rapids, MI; mother, Julia Alston; siblings, Michael (Annie) Alston, all of Flint, Glenda Alston of Orlando, FL, Aurelious Jr. (Era) Alston of Flint, Janice (Ed) Love of Fenton, MI, Anita (Carl) Palmore of Lansing, MI, Joyce Alston of Flint, Beverly Alston of Charlotte, NC, Eric Alston, Felicia Alston, both of Flint, Serbrena (Denval) Green of Orlando, FL, and Marian Alston of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Ms. Alston was preceded in transition by her loving father, Aurelious Alston, Sr. The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the Genesee County Medical Examiners Office, the First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church family, the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and all the family and friends that have offered their love and support during this difficult time.
