WASHINGTON, Mrs. Debra - Age 53, passed away Monday, October 25, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m., Eld. John Thornton officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Washington will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Debra Renee (Allen) Washington was born September 3, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of William and Juanita Allen. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Vernon Chapel A.M.E. Church. Debra attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Flint Central High School “Class of 1975.” She worked at Buick City, a division of General Motors for 32 years. Debra was married to Leroy E. Washington for 30 years. Mrs. Debra Renee (Allen) Washington leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Leroy E. Washington of Flint, MI; 6 sons, Travis (Tara) Allen, William (Chani) Allen, Leroy, Al, Mark and Shaquille Washington, all of Flint; 14 grandchildren; mother, Juanita Allen; father, William (Lynetta) Allen; 9 sisters, Audrey (Mack) Henderson, Regina Allen, Tonya (Derek) Smith, Monica (Greg) Harris, Kaneesha Allen, Ashley Williams, Laticia Young, ShaQuan (Dajuan) Holman and Lynn (Roy) Peterson, all of Flint; brother, Theron A. Young of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces and nephews; special aunt, Geraldine (James) Harper; 3 uncles, Fred “Sonny” Williams, Clifton (Bernice) Moore and Steven (Marie) Moore; numerous cousins; sister-in-law, Fredica Gist; 2 brothers-in-law, Michael Harris and Leonard Copeland; a host of other relatives and friends including, Dominick “Mickey” Gale, Joanne “Anne” Turner of Detroit, MI, Annie Woods of Louisville, KY, Gail Teer of Atlanta, GA, special cousin, Brenda Fluker and special friend, Eddie “Train” Wallace of Detroit, MI. Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by grandparents, Mildred Smart, Debra (Sarge) Allen, Clifton (Anne) Moore, Richard Skelton, Joe Stewart; brothers, Craig Allen, William Teer, Phillip Teer, Edwin Eggleston; nephew, Anthony Allen; and niece, Diamond Jones.
