NELSON, Mrs. Deborah Ann - Age 68, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Nelson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM., with family present to receive friends from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Interment 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Mrs. Deborah Ann Nelson was born July 24th, 1951 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of David Sr. and Barbara (Seaton) Cox. Deborah was a resident of Flint her entire life and attended Flint Central High School. She loved talking on the telephone, watching TV and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Deborah Ann Nelson leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Janet Rideout and Deandria (Ernest) Perkins; 6 grandchildren, D’Ona and Damion Nelson, DeOndria Rideout, all of Flint, Chenelle Harkless, of Auburn, AL, DaMarcus Rideout, of Rison, AR and Ernest Perkins II of Clinton Twp., MI; 4 great-grandchildren, D’Miya Nelson, Jariah Cleveland, Raegan Nelson and Romelo K. Jones Jr.; 2 sisters, Wendy Cox of Flint and Stephanie (Jerry) Chaney of Stone Mountain, GA; brother, David (Alcinda) Cox Jr. of Flint; 4 brothers-in-law, Elvin (Erma) Nelson of Glenn Heights, TX, Curlee Nelson, Elmore Stinson and Larry Johnson, all of Flint; sister-in-law, Dorothy Nelson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God-daughter, Rhonda Williams, other relatives and friends including special friends, Diane McGee and Arma Maynie. Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Nelson; daughter, Maria; parents, David and Barbara Cox; grandparents, Nina Caldron and Carl Seaton; sister, Sandra Person and Leatha Stinson; nephews, Ryan Stinson, Ryan Irving Stinson and Allen Person; mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Lucille Nelson, brother-in-law, Matthew Sharpe. The family would like to express special thanks to Karmanos Cancer Institute and McLaren Hospice doctors and nurses, sister, Wendy Cox, sister-in-law, Dorothy Nelson, nephew, Michael Nelson and caregiver, Stephanie Carranza as well as our relatives and friends for their expression of love and heartfelt sympathy during our bereavement.
