HARRIS, Ms. Deborah Kaye - Age 62, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2015 at Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 735 Wager Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Michael L. Lewis, officiating Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Monday. Ms. Harris will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. Ms. Deborah Kaye Harris was born on October 13, 1952 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Charlie H. and Areatha Harris. She was educated in the Flint Public School System, graduating from Northwestern High School, “Class of 1968”. Ms. Harris worked for A.C. Delphi, a division of General Motors for over 25 years, retiring in 1997. She was a God fearing, loving, caring, mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt and friend. Ms. Harris was a true “Prayer Warrior”, who loved the Lord. Her greatest pass-time was reading the Bible, listening to music and spending time with family and friends, and watching television. Ms. Harris’ gentle spirit touched the hearts of everyone she knew. She was a faithful servant of the Lord at Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church for over 17 years. Ms. Harris will be loved and remembered by all who knew her. Ms. Deborah Kaye Harris leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Ebony Harris; 4 grandchildren, Quavon Kelly, Aaron Harris, Amir Harris and Zyasha Deloney; sister, Juanita Watson; brother, Charlie H. Harris, Jr.; 5 nieces, Ta’Tashia (Onzie) Cureton, Talina (Fred) Brown, Yalonda Williams, Veronica (Bubba) Gloster and Valasha Robinson; nephew, Jesse A. (Judy) Collins; uncle, Robert (Cindy) Scott; 2 cousins, Yvonne Tidwell and Edna Brown; a host of other relatives and friends including god-daughters, Nita Jones, Tina Demps and Felicia Mills; god-son, Michael Lewis, special son, Steve Deloney; and other god-grandchildren. Ms. Deborah Kaye Harris was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charlie H. Sr. and Areatha Harris; grandparents, George & Clara Scott and Charlie & Mattie Harris; brother, Charlie H. Harris, Jr.; uncle and aunt, Will and Gertrude Williamson. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren-Flint ICU staff, Heartland Nursing Home, Gospel Temple Church family, Steve Deloney, Juanita Watson and Pastor Michael L. Lewis.
