BABBITT, Ms. DeAngela T. - Age 25, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, January 28, 2017 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Rev. Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 10:00 AM Saturday. Ms. Babbitt will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed 12:00PM-6:30 PM on Friday, January 27, 2017. Ms. DeAngela, “DiAngie”, “Dee Angie”, then just “Dee” Babbitt, was born in Flint, Michigan on the 17th day of May 1991. She was a devoted mother to Skylar Latrice who passed away of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) at the age of 2 months and 17 days. “Sky” was her life and her light. “Dee” attended school Flint and Detroit, MI and graduated from Kellwood High School in Eastpointe, MI. She was employed as a Nursing Assistant and also work for Barrett Company. “Dee” could find a job when she wanted too, working wouldn’t stop her from attending family gatherings or going out for some fun. She loved dining out, dancing, and of course her many hair do’s. “Dee” was a beautiful person even if she had an attitude. Her laugh could make anyone smile and her sadness could make her family unload their pockets. “Dee” had many friends who loved her as much as us. She loved to travel and went to Kentucky to the Job Corps. “Dee” attended Baker and College and Mott Community College. She also loved to help other girls embrace the curves that God gave them. “Dee” was a member of BBW Big Beautiful Women. Our “Dee” was truly “Fabulous” to us and everyone she met. Ms. DeAngela “Dee” Babbitt leaves to cherish her memory: parents, Tannette and Michael; grandparents, Angela Pounds and Robert Lee Jones; sister, Karmariya; brother, JaCourtney and Arthur Harris; step-sister, Sanphanee; step-brothers, Michael Jr., Christ, Me’me and James; nephew, Kamarion; a host of aunts; uncles, Tyrone Babbitt and Tarrel Pounds; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Matthew Black, Tottiyonna Pounds, Devion Holbrook, Aijalon Holbrook and Polandecia Raines. Ms. Babbitt was preceded in death by her daughter, Skylar T. Babbitt; grandfather, Vincent Pounds Sr.; aunt, Shirley Babbitt; uncle, Terrence Itson; cousins, LaTroya Babbitt and LaSonya Babbitt. The family would like to express special thanks to all the family and friends whose hearts were touched by her passing.
