McGEE, Deacon Nathaniel, Sr. - Age 73, was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Mother Inez McGEE - Age 73, was called home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Harris Memorial C.O.G.I.C., 4317 Lippincott Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Supt. Steve A. Hawkins, officiating. Eld. Eric C. Bogan, Host Pastor. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Saturday. Deacon Nathaniel & Mother Inez McGee, Sr., will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W.Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday and from 8AM-8PM Friday. Deacon Nathaniel McGee was born January 24, 1934, in Money, MS to the late Collin and Nancy (Abrams) McGee. Deacon McGee received his formal education in the Tunica County School System. He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharged. Deacon McGee met the love of his life Inez McGee and they were united in Holy Matrimony on November 26, 1956, and later relocated to Flint, MI. and was employed Fisher Body Plant, Grand Blanc. He retired in 1981 after 30 years of employment. In 1990 he accepted Christ as his personal savior and united with the Harris Memorial COGIC. In June 1997, he joined in fellowship with Supt. Steve A. Hawkins; where he continued to be a faithful supporter of the Ministry and the Pastor. Deacon McGee loved to study and teach the Word of God; he served as an Adult Sunday School Teacher and Chairman of the Deacon's Board. Deacon McGee was an avid hunter and fisherman; and he loved to spend time with family and friends. Mother Inez McGee was born January 26, 1934, in Tunica, MS to the late Tillman and Evalina Hill. Mother McGee was reared by her grandparents the late Jake and Hattie Bogan after her mother's demise. While growing up in Tunica, MS, she began her formal education in the Tunica County School System. Mother McGee accepted Christ in her life and united with Harris Temple COGIC under the leadership of Supt. T.R. Harris and at his demise; continued to serve under the late Bishop W.E. Bogan. In June 1997, she joined in fellowship with Supt. Steve A. Hawkins; where she faithfully supported the Ministry with her time, talent and treasure. Mother McGee was also a faithful member of the Usher Board, Mother's Board, Altar Guild and the Deacon's Wives Circle. After 25 years of employment, Mother McGee retired in 2003 from the Whaley Children's Center; where she twice received special recognition for loyal and dedicated service. Mother McGee loved her children and grandchildren; and was protector of her family. They leave to cherish in their memory: 3 daughters, Nadine McGee, Lucinda McGee-Junior and Sandra McGee all of Flint; 3 sons, Lester (Sharon Williams) Hill, Larry (Renea) Hill all of Flint, and Nathaniel (Takeeler) McGee, Jr. of Memphis, TN; 20 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 6 sisters and sisters-in-law, Doretha (George) Obgurn, Lula Warren, Izora Elridge, Clardine (Collin) Stevens, Doris ( Pastor Steve) Hawkins and Annie McGee all of Flint; 2 brothers and brothers-in-law, Jimmie and Ellis (Shirley) McGee all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dea. McGee and Mother McGee was preceded in death by their daughter, Rosetta McGee. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Dismond, Dr. Saeed and the Hurley Medical Staff; Pastor Steve Hawkins and the El Shaddai Ministries Church Family; Pastor Eric C. Bogan and the members of Harris Memorial COGIC; Pastor Derrick Aldridge and the members of Second Chance Ministry; Mother Dianne Bogan, and to all who visited and brought joy to our Parents before they departed from this earthen tabernacle and made there journey home.
