Mr. David Wilson

WILSON, Mr. David - Age 74, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at Henry Ford Hospital - Detroit, MI. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Kenneth L.. Stewart, officiating. Interment Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, 2020 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Wilson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday. Thoughtful, friendly, intelligent, gentle, and courageous. All of these words capture the life of Mr. David Wilson, but none of them can truly describe this amazing man. Mr. David Wilson was born June 17, 1941 in Leland, Mississippi. He was the son of the late Clarence and Carrie Wilson. He accepted Christ at the Beulah Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. F.T. Turner. Mr. Wilson graduated from Breisch High School and attended Mississippi Valley State University until he was drafted into the United States Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran. When he was honorably discharged from the military, he moved to Flint, Michigan where he secured a job working for General Motors (Metal Fab). There he worked for 30 plus years until retirement. He married Arlean Johnson and to this union was born two beautiful daughters, Sheila and Sandra. David was a man of character and this was seen not only in the words he spoke, but also in the life he lived. He was a faithful husband, caring father, loving grandfather and a dependable individual towards all of his family members and friends. He was truly a man of God and this was evident in his profound knowledge of the Holy Bible. He leaves to cherish his memory his beautiful, devoted wife of 48 years, Arlean Wilson. Daughters: Sheila Hartfield of Grand Blanc and Sandra Wilson of Burton, Michigan. Two grandsons: La’darius Hartfield and La donte’ Hartfield of Grand Blanc, Michigan. Four brothers: Louvell and Katherine Houston of Chicago, IL, Jeff and Dorothy Wilson of Memphis, TN, Earnest and Lucindia Wilson of Hampton, GA, Carl L. and Sharon Wilson of Greenville, MS. Four sisters: Ora Lee Adley of Leland, MS, Josephine Robison of Mt. Morris, MI, Alice and Tommie McCall of South Holland, IL, Elizabeth and Joe Garth of Leland, MS. Four brothers-in-law: Hosea and Elouise Hammon of Flint, MI, Harrison Crockwell of New York, NY, William and Mae Johnson of Greenville, MS, James and Stella Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA. Three sisters-in-law: Louise and Lawrence Wilson of Flint, MI, Bernice Johnson of Leland, MS, Ruthie and Rev. Mose Wright of Leland, MS. Three goddaughters: Ceceilia Briana McNeal, Clarice Mastin and Tynee Sims. Two godsons: Jeremiah Evans and Andrew (AJ) Scott Jr. He will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by parents Clarence and Carrie Wilson. Brothers: John Henry Wilson, Clarence Wilson Jr. and Robert Clarence Wilson. Sisters: Beulah Crockwell, Lillie B. Hurse, Daisy Hammon and Corine Roberts. The family would like to thank his caregivers at Genesys Medical Center, Henry Ford Hospital Detroit, MI and Four Chaplins Rehabilitation Center in Westland, MI. The family would also like to express special thanks to Pastor Stewart and the House of Prayer Church Family and the Flint Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
