WILSON, Mr. David Jr. - Age 50, was set free of this life, Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Fort Wayne, IN. Family hour 9 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 10 a.m. Rev. Maxwell Robbs officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 9 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Wilson will lie in state in the Chaple of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. David Wilson Jr. entered this life on August 20, 1961 in West Point, Mississippi, the son of Maggie Jean Wilson and the late David Wilson Sr. David came to Flint in late 1969 with his parents and brother (Larry) and attended the Flint Community School system starting at Flint Park Elementary, Pierson Elementary, Holmes Junior High, and Flint Northwestern and later graduating from Flint Northern in 1979. David then joined the Military with the United States Marine Corp, stationed at Camp Pendleton in California after numerous missions around the world until he joined the United States Army in 1992 until 1996 then David joined the California Coast Guard Reserves until 1999 then he joined the California National Guards until he later transferred to the Indiana National Guards in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2001 until he retired in July 2011. David served our country in two wars the latest being Operation Iraq Freedom II. Be it known that Staff Sergeant David Wilson Jr. served thirty two (32 yrs.) of faithful service to several states and the nation, where he served with distinction and unselfish devotion to duty and total dedication. David loved his family, cars, computers and music. He was a collector of many different things. David loved to talk about his numerous military experiences thru out the world. David attended Palomar College in San Marcos, California in 1993. He also attended Cypress College in Cypress, CA, where he received an associate’s degree in computer science in 1997. He leaves behind to cherish sweet memories: wife, Michele Wilson of Los Angeles, CA; mother, Maggie Jean Wilson of Flint; brother, Larry (Cynthia) Wilson of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Vickie (Melvin) Hargrow of Flint, and Katie (Michael) of Memphis, TN; sister and brother–in-law, Cynthia and Melvin; a host of nieces and nephews including, Lafayette, Porsha, Melvin Jr., Imani, Xavier and Ashley; uncle and aunt, James and Willie Mae Wilson and Annie B. Wilson, all of Flint; along with several cousins and friends. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his father, David Wilson, Sr.
