Mr. David Dudley Bailey Jr.

BAILEY, Mr. David Dudley, Jr. - Age 65, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 3016 S. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 12 noon. Pastor Donald Austin officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Bailey will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. David Dudley Bailey, Jr. was born September 25, 1948 in Flint, Michigan, the son of David and Tommie Mae Bailey. David was a resident of Roanoke, Alabama. He accepted Christ at an early age at New Zion Baptist Church in Flint, MI later joining Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lafayette, Alabama. David was a graduate of Northern High School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1969 and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. David was employed with General Motors and later retired from the Flint Board of Education. He loved fishing, barbeque and cracking jokes. David also loved being with his family. Mr. David Dudley Bailey, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Greta M. Bailey of Roanoke, AL; 2 daughters, Sheila (Donald) Rush and Kimberly Hutchinson; 3 sons, Christopher Hutchison, Dieon Hutchinson and David D. Hutchinson; 5 step children, L’atisha (Terry) Managram, Norvell Trammell, Lelane Trammell, Angelica Trammell and Joseph Trammell, all of Roanoke, AL; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Donna (Cleo) Mosley of Chicago, IL and Ruth (Clifton) Moore of Flint; 5 brothers, Duane Bailey, Charles (Sharon) Bailey, Jerome Simpson, Richard Simpson and Antonio Polar of Tennessee; mother and father-in-law, Leonard and Annie Trammell of Roanoke, AL; 6 sisters-in-law, Linda (Steven) Johnson of New Jersey, Kathy Seymour, Shirley (Kennis) Rowland, Tammy Watkins, Angela Bailey, all of Roanoke, AL and Mary J. Marable of LaGrange, GA; brother-in-law, Willie (Toni) Trammell of Prattville, AL; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Ambrose King and Ethel Hutchinson. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents, David and Tommie Mae Bailey; and brother, Jerry Bailey.
