LENEAR, Mr. Dave Jr. - Age 79, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 after a long bout with Alzheimer's. Funeral Service 11AM Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at New Zion Baptist Church, 1601 Chippewa St., Rev. Dallas Lenear officiating. Dr. W.G. Terry Pastor. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Wednesday. Mr. Lenear will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Tuesday with family present from 5-7PM. Mr. Dave Lenear, Jr. was born May 28, 1929 in Bolivar, Tennessee, the son of Dave and Lugenia Lenear. He met and married his wife, Marie, at an early age, and they were united in Holy Matrimony for 61 years before her death in December 2006. Dave was a devoted father who provided for his family and extended family all of his life. He retired from Grand Blanc Metal Fab in 1999 after 46 years of dedicated service where he was a member of UAW Local 1292, along with 25 years of service at Firestone South Saginaw Street location. Dave resided in Flint for 55 years. He enjoyed working, walking and sitting in the comfort of his favorite chairs – indoors and out. Dave could also be found eating handfuls of his favorite sweets. Mr. Dave Lenear, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: 7 daughters, Mary (Claud) Hodges, Betty J. Perry, Faye (William) Robertson, B. Dianne May, Kaye Gould, Pollyette Lenear, and Angela R. Lenear; 3 sons, William (Crystal) Saines, David L. (Linda) Lenear, and Rev. Dallas (Senita) Lenear; 12 grandchildren, Andre, Shonda, Latonya, LeeLonda, Virgil, Dena, LaKisha, Ebony, Ashley, David, Jr., Senina and Evan; 5 great-grandchildren, Harrison, Austin, Brandon, Justin, and Jacobi; sister-in-law, Mildred (Ben) Easley of Chattanooga, TN; 5 brothers-in-law, Raymond Crisp of Detroit, MI, Garthell Comer of Gary, IN Joseph (Ethel) Comer of Jackson, TN, Sammie (Edna) Comer of Nashville, TN and Roy Ellison of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Lenear was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Lenear; parents, Dave & Lugenia; 3 sisters, Hattie, Olivia & Willa Mae; and brother, James. The family would like to express special thanks to the staffs at LifeHouse and Avalon Hospice Care and our many family and friends who have prayed for daddy over the past 10 years.
