MASSEY, Ms. Datter - Age 44, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Thursday, August 12, 2010 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Pastor Donald Hughes, Officiating. Friends and family will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Thursday. Ms. Massey will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon- 8 p.m. Wednesday. Ms. Datter Rosetta Massey was born October 22, 1965 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Mildred Goins and Willie Massey, Sr. Datter was a graduate of Northwestern High School. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Datter was a people person and she loved to have fun. Although Ms. Massey was not a member of a church, she visited many and loved the Lord. Ms. Datter Rosetta Massey leaves to cherish her memory: companion, Tommy McGee of Flint; daughter, Patrice Williams; 4 sons, Omar Massey, Derrius McCaskey, Darren McCaskey, Jr., Stephan Massey (Latonya Johnson) of Florence, AL; 6 grandchildren, Alexis Monroe, Brianne Caurthers, DaVeonta Caurthers, all of Flint, Lakhari Massey, Kailee Moore and Khyra James, all of Florence, AL; mother, Mildred Goins; stepfather, George Johnson, Sr.; 5 sisters, Temetrese Massey, Kimberly Massey, Melissa Massey, Nicki Massey, all of Flint and Reba Massey of Pine Bluff, AR; stepsister, Carrie Johnson of Jackson, MS; 3 brothers, Bobby Massey, Willie Massey, Jr. and Calvert Massey, all of Flint; stepbrother, George Johnson, Jr. of Flint; a host of nieces and nephews; 4 aunts, Earcylean Trotter and Jackie Robinson, Rosetta and Jeanette Webster of Sheriden, AR; 5 uncles, Julius Lee Webster of Sheridan, AR, Kurlee Eans, Melvin Coleman, James Garden, all of Pine Bluff, AR and Rev. Theotis Mason of Milwaukee, WS; a host of cousins other relatives and friends. Ms. Massey was preceded in death by her father, Willie Massey, Sr.; grandmother, Ethel B. Jenkins; great grandmother, Sis. Priscilla Wilkins; and sister, Iris Clarice (Burroughs) Massey.
