RICHARD, Mr. Darren - Age 45, departed this life Friday, August 8, 2008 at his residence. Family hour 11AM Thursday, August 14, 2008 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 2115 W. Coldwater Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Pastor Daniel Bridges officiating. Rev. Michael Pettigrew, Host Pastor. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Thursday. Mr. Richard will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1P-8PM Wednesday. Mr. Darren D. Richard “Richie” was born May 4, 1963 in Flint, MI, the son of John and Peggy Richard. Darren was born and raised in Flint, MI. He was a member of New Israel Missionary Baptist Church. Darren was a graduate of Beecher High School “Class of 1982”. He was employed with Burger King as a Manager for over 20 years. Darren enjoyed working on cars, listening to music and hanging out with his family and friends. He was on the best mechanics around Flint and could fix anything. Darren was a fun loving person and always had a smile on his face. On August 21, 1993, Darren United in Holy Matrimony to Regina L. Fisher. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Regina Richard; 2 daughters, Dakeda Brown and Unique March; 2 sons, Derrick Brown, and Booker Lang; 3 stepchildren, Quinise Gillard, all of Flint, Quinton Gillard of Austin, TX and Pvt. 1st Class Quintez Gillard of Columbus, GA; 4 grandchildren, Samariah Brown, Dontrell Carr, Kyran and Aquavius Gillard; mother, Peggy Richard; 3 sisters, Betsy Peoples, Linda and Peggy Richard, all of Flint; 2 brothers, Lonnie Alexander of Freeport, TX and James Richard of Flint; 3 aunts, Henry Hill, Reba Walker both of Flint and Mary (Laymon) Roseby of Little Rock, AR; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Mr. Richard was preceded in death by his father, John Richard; grandparents, Sam and Betsy Richard, Annie Ivory and Frances Bowen; uncles, Warren Miller, Jimmie Sawyer and Otis Walker; and aunt, Leola Miller. The family would like to express spcial thanks to Dr. Danish and staff, Dr. Lopez, Dr. Matthew, McLaren Home Health, McLaren Hospice, Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute, Minister Pettigrew and Pastor Daniel and Naomi Bridges.
