WICKER, Mr. Darnell Maurice - Age 47, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at U of M Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI. Family hour 10:00 AM Thursday, May 3, 2018 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Thursday. Mr. Wicker will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday. Mr. Darnell Wicker was born June 21, 1970 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Oliver and Phyllis Wicker. He spent his earlier years traveling with his parents while his father was in the United States Navy. Darnell graduated from Flint Northern High School and went on to receive numerous I.T. certifications. He was an avid traveler he would go on to live in California, Atlanta, GA and Miami, FL. Darnell was employed at The Answer Group in Miami as an I.T. Specialist for 10 years, while also maintaining his own computer repair business. He really enjoyed working in his chosen field as an I.T. Professional. Darnell was well known for helping others with all of their I.T. and Computer Repair Solutions. In 2004, while residing in Miami, he met his longtime love, Jaime. After having lived in Atlanta briefly working as an I.T. Network Administrator, Darnell and Jaime relocated to Michigan as a family where they married. Darnell was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was well liked and loved by all who knew him. Mr. Darnell Wicker leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Jaime Wicker of Flint Township, MI; 3 daughters, Sharena Richard of Flint, Brianna Johnson of Atlanta, GA and Destiny Wicker; son, Deandre Wicker, both of Flint Township; step-son, Jaden Lindsey; grandson, Amir Johnson; grandmother, Ruby Williams of Flint; sister, Olivia Wicker (Stanley Gilbert) of Davison, MI; 3 nieces, Chante, Ericka and Tyresha; 4 nephews, Isiah, Dominque, Oliver and Bernard; 3 great-nieces, Lyric, My’Yana and Loyalty; great-nephew, Courtney; 3 aunts, Sharon Hudson, Margie Ernest and Julia Love; 7 uncles, William Ernest, Tony (Ruby) Ernest of Nashville, TN, Maurice (Koran) Ernest, Curtis Wicker, Donald Ray (Diane) Wicker, Floyd Lavender of Colorado and Clifton Wicker; 3 great-aunts, Sammie Ella Tabron, Edna Jetters and Marie Homes; father-in-law, Jimmy Dilbert; 3 brothers-in-law, Kerry Campbell of Miami, FL, Kelly (Tashana) Campbell of Atlanta, GA and Kevin (Tiffany) Dilbert; a host of other relatives and friend including special friends, Michael (Denise) Muhammad, Gerard Williams and Donell English. Mr. Wicker was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Wicker; father, Oliver Wicker; grandparents Mrs. Jimmie Ernest and Mr. John Wicker; sister, Tina Chaney; aunts, Margaret Ernest and Jennifer Ernest; uncles, Roosevelt Ernst, Allan Wicker, Sylvester Wicker and Marvin Lavender; and mother-in-law, Jewel Forbes.
