WATSON, Ms. Darlene - Age 62, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Mercy Hospital, Muskegon, MI. Funeral service 11:00 AM Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Kingdom of Heaven Ministries, 2430 Dutcher Rd., Pastor Lonnie Brown, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Ms. Watson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2020. Ms. Darlene Watson was born June 18, 1958 in Muskegon, Michigan, the daughter of Earl Sr. and Juanita Watson. Darlene was a resident of Muskegon and attended Tabernacle Church of God and Kingdom of Heaven Ministries. She graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1976,” Edwards School of Cosmetology and Ross Medical Education Center as a Dental Assistant. Darlene was employed at General Motors Corporation for over 20 years. She was full of life and loved to smile, wear hats, take pictures and bless people. Her favorite color was red. Darlene spoke the truth even if it hurt your feelings. She loved listening to “Ole School Music” and talk about some of the stuff that God has brought us through. Darlene enjoyed gardening with her mother, visiting her dad, reading the bible, eating a T-bone Steak, dancing and walking on the beach (Pere Marquette). Some of her favorite quotes were “I’m blessed and highly favored, God bless the child that has their own”, “you have not because you ask not” and “bum that” meaning she’s serious. Darlene loved and celebrated life and most of all she loved her family and grandchildren. Her favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Ms. Darlene Watson leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Tawanna (Eric) Randle of Canton, MI: 3 grandchildren, Corey M. Green Jr. of Denver, CO, Chelsea T. Randle of Walker, MI and Eric L. Lundy of Flint; parents, Earl (Rosemary) Watson Sr. of Mt. Morris, MI and Juanita Watson; 6 sisters, Jeanette Betts, both of Muskegon, MI, Alma Watson, Mary (Greg) Thompson, all of Flint, Patricia “Trishe” Watson of Fort Worth, TX, Sondretta Graham of Jackson, TN and Henrietta Hadley of Muskegon, MI; 2 brothers, Earl (Theresa) Watson and John Watson, all of Flint; 5 nieces including special niece, Tia Hall; 4 nephews; 3 aunts; 1 uncle; 12 cousins; a host of other relative and friends including special friends, Debra Jackson, Yolanda Robertson and Kenneth Miller Sr. Ms. Watson was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Miller Jr.; niece, Tiphanie Mayfield; grandparents and other relatives. The family would like to express special thanks to Mercy Health Hospital, Kingdom of Heaven Women’s Prayer Group and Pastor Ann Oakes of Tabernacle Church of God.
