HARALSON, Ms. Darlene R. - age 52, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at New Beginnings Ministries, G-5227 Beecher Rd. with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Clarence Lewis officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10 a.m. Thursday. Ms. Haralson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday. Ms. Darlene Haralson was born July 31, 1961 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Hosea Haralson Sr. and Floyd Jean Whitfield. She was a resident of Flint and graduated from Northern High School in 1980. Darlene was employed by Hurley Medical Center for 20 years, as a housekeeper. She rededicated her life to the Lord and was baptized November 20, 2011 at New Beginnings Ministries, where she has served faithfully since that time. Darlene loved reading her Bible and spending time with her family and friends. She had a love for fashion and style; you could always count on her making an entrance with natural beauty. Darlene loved cuddling up on the couch watching movies with family and listening to classic and new gospel music. Ms. Darlene Haralson leaves to cherish her memory: 2 sons, Alvertus (Tasha) Haralson and Demond Marshall; grandchildren, Kourtney Cavazos, Nevaeh Elem, Rocky Elem Jr. and DaQuan Elem, all of Flint; great-grandchild, BreaElla Cavazos; father, Hosea Haralson Sr.; stepmother, Jan Haralson; 2 brothers, Hosea Haralson Jr. and John Haralson; 3 nieces, Brooklyn Haralson, Phoenix Haralson and Carissa Conyers; nephew, Brayden Conyers; aunts, Marlynn Whitfield and Statha Lewis; cousins, Clarence Lewis, Linda Lewis, Frank Haralson, Otis-Stean Pitts, Crystal Riggs, Carlos Gaines and Terry Boyce; sisters-in-law, Sydney Haralson and Stephanie Haralson; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Maryann Lowe, Darlene Wilson, Stephanie Bartley, Leroy Comway, Willie Smith, Willie Douglas, Montrea Byrd and Sheila Malone. Ms. Haralson was preceded in death by mother, Floyd Jean Whitfield. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren-Flint 2 Central, ICU, and all staff members for the excellent and compassionate care shown to our mother.
