Mrs. Darice Lamore Wade

WADE, Mrs. Darice Lemore - Age 67, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Bethlehem Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith, 3401 Martin Luther King Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Phillip Thompson, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday, March 8, 2025. Mrs. Wade will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Sister Darice Lamore Wade was born June 8, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of James and Eula Mae Johnson. Darice was a member of Bethlehem Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith, where she served on the Usher Board and also sang in the Choir. She participated in many activities that the church had. Darice made sure her grandchildren were involved too. She would watch church live and always had her alarm clock set on her phone for prayer. Sister Darice went back to school to get her high school diploma. She also attended Mott Community College where she studied Sign Language and other studies. Sister Darice worked as a chairperson on the voting polls. She loved to crochet blankets, going fishing from sun up to sun down whenever she could. Sister Darice loved studying her Bible and always was willing to learn new things. She also had a nickname that her family and friends called her, “Risa”. Her smile was contagious! She loved bing around family especially her grandchildren, making people laugh. She loved giving hugs and made the best potato salad and fried chicken. Sister Darice never forgot your birthday, she would always call of text. It was never goodbye when she was on the phone, it was always “talk to you later” or she would say, “love you, love you.” Sister Darice Lamore Wade leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, April (Ojore) Elerson; son, Darnell Wade II; 9 grandchildren, Tarese Wade, Asia Wade, Darnell Wade III, Queen Elerson, Ojore Elerson, Zuberi Elerson, Elijah Wade, Nehemiah Wade and Shakyla Whitfield, all of Flint; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Brenda (Leroy) Denson of Oklahoma, Bernice Haynes, Shirley Tipton and Christine Wiggins; brother, Alvis (Gail) Johnson, all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; 5 aunts, Gertrude Fox, Rosemary Browning, Alviteen Browning, Ollie Bowie and Juila Johnson; 2 uncles, Johon (Beverly) Browning and Aaron Browning; a host of cousins; 4 sisters-in-law, Ottie (Kenneth) Smith, Crystal Frazier, Cathy Wade and Caroline (Charles) Elder; sister-in-law, Marie Johnson; 3 brothers-in-law, Minister Daring (Lenora) Wade, Timothy (Diane) Wade and Alvin (Gwendolyn) Gately; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Josephine Jones, a true special friend, you were always there for our mother and we love and thanks you for your true friendship, God bless you! Sister Wade was preceded in death by her husband, Darnell Wade Sr.; son, Lynell Wade; granddaughter, Epiphany Elerson; parents, Deacon James and Sister Eula Mae Johnson; mother and father-in-law, John and Princie Wade; sister, Joann Cavetten; brother, James E.
