HILL, Ms. Daria L. Hill - Age 50, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 in Flint, MI. Family hour 10L00 AM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ, 6031 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Derrick Aldridge, officiating., Supt. Chris Martin, Host Pastor. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Saturday. Ms. Hill will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday. Ms. Daria Lynnette Hill was born August 21, 1970 in Flint, Michigan, the eldest daughter of Sandra Bush and Vernon Hill. Daria attended Flint Community Schools graduating from Flint Northern High School in 1988. Daria accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle. Ms. Hill was employed for many years as a paraprofessional for Flint Community Schools Department of Transportation. She was a Certified Direct Care Worker as well as a Licensed Foster Care Provider for several years. Daria delighted in helping and serving others and she loved children. Her most recent employment was as a Community Resource Developer through AmeriCorps VISTA & The Crim Foundation at Doyle-Ryder Elementary School in Flint. She took an avid interest in meeting the needs and well-being of all those with whom she came into contact. Daria attended Second Chance Church where she was active in the Youth Ministry, organizing the bowling league and numerous fundraisers. Her other interests included Flint’s Finest Car Club where she served as secretary for 9 years. She was also Team Mom for the Flint Magic Basketball Team. Ms. Hill could often be found cheering loudly for her children in the stands or from the sidelines. Daria was known for indulging in another of her favorite pastimes, shopping for family and friends to whom she was known as “The Shopper Extraordinaire”. Daria Lynnette Hill leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved children, Nicholas, Travonis and Kynnedi Hill; parents, Sandra Brandon (Bob Sipe), Vernon (Ruby) Hill and Maxie Brandon Jr.; 2 sisters, Stephanie Hill and Keirra Webster-Brandon of Flint; 6 brothers, Vernon (Deloris) Hill of McKinney, TX, Taya (Alena) Hill of Ypsilanti, MI, Deario Richardson of the Bronx, NY, Quinn Pitts of Charlotte, NC, Vernon Pitts and Deion Tipton; aunts, Lisa (Eric) Johnson, all of Flint, Valerie Ewing of Gulfport, MS, Antionette (John) Hardy of Flint, Sheila Bolden of Detroit, MI, Rhonda Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Jethene Ross of Flushing, MI and Claudette Brandon of Flint; uncles, David (Dana) Bush of Flushing, MI and Fred (Stella) Hill of Jacksonville, FL; grandmother, Catherine Bush of Hopkins, SC; 4 god-daughters, Khadegiah Johnson of Upper Marlboro, MD, Kadiya Phillips of Sumter, SC, Darrian Bush of Murfreesboro, TN and Danae Bush of Grand Rapids, MI; god-mothers, Gwendolyn Goodrum of Federal Way, WA and Jacqueline Turner-Banks of Sacramento, CA. Daria is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to name all of whom she loved dearly and considered special. Ms. Hill was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Beverly Bush, Maxie and Esther Brandon, Inez Stipe and Fred Hill; brother, Tamonta Hill; aunts, Nedra Bush, Delaine Blassingame, and Terry Anderson; uncles, John Bush III, Charles Davis, Marvin and Jeffrey Johnson. The family wishes to express special thanks to Mike Griffin of CPS and Hurley Medical Center Services, especially PEDS ER RN, Julie.
