STALLING, Mr. Daprees K. (Kirkland) "Colt" - Age 19, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009. Family hour Saturday, May 30, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM, Bishop Rosal McFadden officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Saturday. Mr. Stallings will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 3PM-8PM Friday. Mr. Daprees K. (Kirkland) Stalling “Colt” was born May 22, 1989 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Tara “Suga” Stalling and Vincent Kirkland. “Colt” was born a child with a smile. As a child, he was a faithful member of Trinity Pentecostal Church, where his Uncle Rosal and Aunt Ruthie are Pastoring. “Colt” sang in the choir and danced on the praise dance team. He attended Sunday School every Sunday morning, with his Beginning Teacher, “Granny Mae” (his grandmother) and his Junior Teacher, Sis. Deborah Washington. Growing up as a child, he loved to attend the Salvation Army, where he kept his aunties, (Renee, Lisa, Darlene and Pumpkin), filled with laughter throughout the day with his humorous behavior. “Colt” was a loud, energetic, fun and silly person. He loved dancing, talking on the phone, traveling with his Granny and making his family and friends laugh. “Colt” was a very humorous person. Through bad times and good times, he always knew how to keep you smiling. In elementary school, he attended Sobey, Civic Park and Bunche. In middle school, he attended Longfellow and his last years of school he attended Flint Northern, Central and Davenport. “Colt” leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Tara “Suga” Stalling; grandparents, Leon and Mary “Granny Mae” McFadden, Charles and Valerie Sims, Raymond and Katie Mae (Bridges) Kirkland; 2 sisters, Mary Mitchell, Kania Kirkland; 6 brothers, Darr “Pony” Stalling, DreQua “Stallion” Stalling, Vincent Jr., Demarko Davis, and Oshay Kirkland, Rajamon Saulks; great-grandmothers, Minnie Sims and Betty Murray; a host of aunts, including Tranetta “Boo” McGee, TaQuela “QueQue” McFadden, Lisa Spicer, Erica Sims, Keyana “NiQue” Kirkland and LaMonica Norris; a host of uncles, including Charles (Monique) Stalling, Gregory McFadden, Bobby Flurry, Patrick Spicer, Raymond Billings, Raymond Kirkland, Jr., Kevin Willingham; great aunts, Dorothy Stalling Carter, Annie Lee Stalling Robinson, Annie Pearl Hutchins, Joyce McFadden, Christine Lawson, Sherry Cooper, Annette Murray Johnson, Joan, Ann and Earnestein Sims, Ruthie McFadden, Louise Stalling Sparks, Jackie Sims; great uncles, Brooks Stalling, Bishop Rosal McFadden, Larry, Rickie and Calvin Sims; a host of cousins, including, Keno Allen, Tarquesia McGee, Keon Newkirk, Raveen Kirkland, Azaria Jones, C.J. Jones, Regina and Shaqueta Allen, Kendrick Norris, Latorious Allen, Titiana, Kateland and Rashawn Kirkland, Darielle Johnson, Sarai McDonald, Aliza Harris, Myriah McDonald, Aaminah Stalling, Na’ailah, Na’airah and Aniya Muhummad, Tiara, Dominque, Monisha and Tyresha McFadden; special aunt, TaQuela McFadden, special cousins, Jarvis Jovan Stalling of Hattiesburg, MS and Tarquesia McGee of Flint; special friends, Samika and LaQrisha Humphrey; and a host of other great aunts, great uncles, cousins, family and friends. Mr. Stalling was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Kirkland; great-grandparents, Frank and Ruby Stalling; uncles, James Robinson and Lugene “Binkey” McGee.
