Mr. Dante Harris

HARRIS, Mr. Dante - Age 53, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025, at St. Joseph Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, March 31, 2025, at Bristol Road Church of Christ 1315 W. Bristol Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Minister Rigel J. Dawson, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Monday. Mr. Harris will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Sunday with family present from 1:00PM-3:00PM to receive friends. Mr. Danté Harris was born January 13, 1972, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mary Woodward and Edgar Harris. Danté was baptized at an early age and was a member of New Heaven Missionary Baptist Church. He excelled in many sports where he chose to go the route of playing basketball. He was fortunate to play for Flint Northern High School where he graduated in 1990. Danté attended Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) and obtained his Master Degree in Psychology. He had a passion for learning and educating himself. Danté loved spending time with family and playing family games. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Danté made sure everyone around him had a good time. He was selfless in lending an ear when needed. Although Flint was home for Danté. He found his new home 10 years ago in Phoenix, AZ. He described it as one of the most beautiful places you would ever want to see. Danté has an extensive list of accomplishments. He was versatile in many things. Danté worked for Stellantis as a Loan Officer until his untimely passing. He had a great rapport with his team member and didn’t mince going the extra mile for his customers. Out of all his accomplishments, nothing made him prouder than being the father to his wonderful sons, Danté and Brandon, whom he loved dearly. He loved anyone he considered his family and friends. Mr. Danté Harris leaves to cherish his memory: 2 sons, Danté De’Shawn Harris and Brandon Scott Harris; mother, Mary (William) Woodward of Grand Blanc, MI; sister, Akeima C. Horne of Arlington, TX; step-brother, William (Elanda) Woodward Jr.; aunts, Regina Martin, Yvonne Moore, Carolyn Moore, all of Flint and Tonya (Keith) Young of Ohio; uncles, David M. Martin and Leon Moore, both of Flint; cousins, the Moore, Martin, Taylor, Wilkins, Nelson, Abner, Balance, Serviora, Kinsey, Faumui, Mills, Paylor and Griggs families; god-parents; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, the Brownlee and Jenkins family; devoted life time friends, Nicole Hood, Marcus Bean, Isaac White, Wilkins, Kendra Samuel, Nina Jenkins, Minister Demetrius Aldridge, Carolyn Smith, Tawanna Chandler, Danetta Dozier, David L. Martin and Michael Wilkins. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Harris; grandparents, Wardell and Argerene Moore, Frankie and Edgar Harris Sr.; aunt, Wardella Stone. The family would like to express special thanks to best friend, Kenneth Stovall Law, singers, Timonty Horne and Whitney Frierson, St. Joseph Medical Center and Medical staff, Minister Rigel J.
