Mr. Danny Pitts

PITTS, Mr. Danny - Age 63, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Vibra Hospital in Lincoln Park, MI. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Pastor Michael Pettigrew, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Monday. Mr. Pitts will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Danny Doyle Pitts was born October 7, 1949 in Ripley, TN and raised in Michigan; the son of Loyal and Margie Pitts. Mr. Danny Pitts graduated from Northwestern High School and worked for General Motors but most of all Danny could dress. He loved his Stacey Adams, his jewelry and loved to sit on the front porch playing his music nice and loud. He played his music so loud you can hear it a mile away. He enjoyed his family outings, playing cards and catch with his grandchildren whom he cherished. He loved dancing and BBQ, always making his way towards Mrs. Kellums to get him a plate. “DP” was an enjoyable man to everyone that knew him. He loved his family, especially his pride and joy “wife” Mrs. Evelyn Joyce Pitts who he will now lay with to rest, God bless their souls. We love you D.P. you will never be forgotten. Mr. Danny Doyle Pitts leaves to cherish his memory: 5 children, Tamarla Adams of North Carolina, Tomika Bennett, Danny Pitts Jr., LaQuild Pitts and Tashinna Dantzler; grandchildren, Rolande Byrd Jr., Maleeka Byrd, Jamiya Byrd, Elijah Pitts, Shaniyah Randolph, Amerra Byrd, Daveah Pitts, Kimura Randolph, Paris Adams, Kahlil Sweargen and Alexis Dantzler; 4 sisters, Paulette Pitts, Gail Burke, Roslyn and Veronica Pitts; 4 brothers, Charles Lee Pitts, Cleo Pitts of Oakland, CA, Ray Pitts and Wayne Pitts Jr.; 5 nieces, Simia, Shante, Antoninette, Trina, Lutece; nephews, Terik, Ananias, Lil Ray, Chimere, Jerell, Christopher and Saxton; aunts, Shirley Gunn of Chicago, IL and Liz Pitts; uncles, Ray and Lorenzo Gunn of Chicago, IL; a host of cousins; mother and father-in-law, Mrs. Lois Kellum and Mr. Jettie Kellum; 3 sisters-in-law, Thrada Maria Smith, Angelia Kellum and Valarie Walker; 3 brothers-in-law, Aurelia Kellum , James Smith and Tony Burke; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Red and Herman Byrd.
