LEVERETTE, Mr. Danny Louis, Sr. - Age 51, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 11AM Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Kingdom of Heaven Ministries, G-3196 W. Pasadena Ave., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon. Apostle Lonnie Brown officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Saturday. Mr. Leverette will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mr. Danny Louis Leverette, Sr. affectionally known as "Danny Boy" was born January 23, 1956 the son of Eugene and Roberta (Benson) Leverette. Danny was a resident of Flint his entire life graduating from Flint Northern High School as class president in 1974. Mr. Danny Leverette, Sr. was a former member of Canaan Baptist Church and later rededicated his life to Christ at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Louis H. Mays. "Danny Boy" was employed by General Motors UAW Local #599 for 34 years where he was a hard worker. Danny loved and took great care of his family, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, father, and his siblings. He loved to dress, attend gospel concerts, and get his hair done by his lovely wife and friend. Mr. Danny "Danny Boy" Leverette, Sr. leaves to cherish his sweet memories, his devoted wife of 28 years (together since 1972), Gerlean (Smith) Leverette; 5 children, Lakiesha, Eugenia, Danielle, Danny Jr. and Jeremy Leverette; grandchildren, Kiarah and Aaviyon Leverette, Jason Jr., Jasmine and Jaden Green all of Flint; father, Eugene Leverette; 2 sisters, Debra (Andrew) Paul and Gail Leverette; 5 brothers, Gene (Freda), Jimmy, Tony, David and Tyrone Leverette all of Flint; 7 aunts, Fannie Mae Broome of Las Vegas, NV, Julia Ealy of Arkon, OH, Callie Mabry of Detroit, Julia ( Willie) King of Marion, AL, Melba Benson, Louise Thomas, Melinda Robinson and Ellen Terry all of Flint; 4 uncles, Rev. Otha (Uretha) of Pensacola, FL, Foster, Joe (Lilly) and Charlie Leverette all of Flint; 8 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other special relatives and friends including long time best friend, Richard Battle. Mr. Leverette was preceded in death by his, mother, Roberta Leverette; grandparents, Otha (Hannah) Leverette; 7 uncles, aunts and a host of many cousins and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to Genesys Medical Center staff, nurses Amy and Amy, McLaren Regional Medical Center ER and Staff, Dr. Vakharia, Dr. Danish for all of their help, the cancer doctors, Bishop Marvin C. Pryor, Dr. Littles and assisting nurse, Linda Jackson, and an extra special thanks to all those who took the time out to give, prayed, the phone calls, gifts of love and the ones who were there in this time of need.
