SPEIGHTS, Ms. Danielle Lashawn - Age 39, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:00 PM Tuesday. Ms. Speights will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday, with family present from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM to receive friends. Ms. Danielle LaShawn Speights was born October 30, 1977 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Lee C. Sr. and Luevenia Speights. She was a resident of Flint and graduated from Flint Beecher High School, “Class of 1995.” Danielle attended Wayne State University, Ross Medical School and Mr. David’s School of Cosmetology. She was employed as a Cosmetologist at Joe Lee’s Hair Salon, JC Penny Co. and out of her home. Danielle was baptized at Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dukes. She was a member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Patrick W. Sanders Sr. Ms. Danielle LaShawn Speights leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Skyllar A. Miller; son, Dierius L. Speights; parents, Lee C. Sr. and Luevenia Speights, all of Flint; 3 sisters, Gwendolyn D. (Joseph) Shelby of Grand Blanc, MI, Yuwonia Speights (Steven Beaugard Sr.) of Flint and DeWayne Scott of Emelle, AL; 4 brothers, Lee C. Jr. (Sherida) Speights of Shreveport, LA, Detrick L. Speights of Grand Rapids, MI, Harby G. Christon (Alora) of Chicago, IL and Curtis A. Henry of Atlanta, GA; 7 nieces, Marika A. (Mario) Moore, Whitney J. (Burtrum) Beam, Chrystina D. Shelby, all of Grand Blanc, MI, Letitia and Latasha Speights of Georgia, Lakaia Scott of Alabama and Bethany S. Christon of Chicago, IL; 8 nephews, DeQuan Mahan, Steven Beaugard Jr. JaVonté L. (Stevenie) Speights, Cameron M. Blake, Andre Speights, Jarred Webb, Curtis Henry Jr. and Al Henry; 2 aunts, Eula Boone of Flint and Leola (Jack) Andrews of Mt. Morris, MI; 2 uncles, Curtis L. (Marvalene) Speights Sr. and Curtis (Shirley) Kirkland, all of Flint; great-aunt, Clara Jones of Scooba, MS; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Javelin Walker, Stacy Harris, Walter Sturghill Jr., Sanai Miller and Maurice Dixon. Ms. Speights was preceded in death by her daughter, Sania Miller; paternal and maternal grandparents. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center Emergency Room Trauma Team, Pastor and First Lady Patrick W. Sanders Sr. and the entire New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church family.
