Mrs. Daisy Louise Moore

MOORE, Mrs. Daisy - Age 77, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024, at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, January 3, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Rev. Anthony Kemp, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Friday. Mrs. Moore will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Thursday, January 2, 2025. Daisy Louise Moore, affectionately known as “Lou” was born on July 5, 1947 in Brierfield, Alabama to Leon Reese and Allean Peoples. Lou was raised by her mother and stepfather, Howard Kemp until his untimely death. She was the eldest daughter of Allean Kemp. Lou’s educational accomplishments included earning her GED and completing coursework at Ross Medical School where she received her CNA credentials. These achievements allowed her the opportunity to work at Heritage Manor Nursing Facility and to also help provide loving care to her ailing mother Allean until her passing in 2022. Lou had a zest for life! Her hobbies included traveling, a love for cooking, spending time with her family and sharing her wisdom and advice with those willing to listen. So of course, it would only be fitting that she would give detailed instructions for this day her celebration of life. Specifying the colors she wanted her family to wear, who would speak and the final wishes she wanted her children and loved ones to carry out. Despite life’s challenges, trials and tribulations Lou maintained a positive attitude and outlook on life. She was not one to complain. Living a life of strength and resilience for 77 years until her passing on December 20th, 2024. During her illness Lou made the heartfelt decision to dedicate her life to Christ. Daisy Louise Moore leaves to cherish her memory six children: 3 daughters, Mary Reese (Angie), Senena Moore (Nena), and Danielle Moore; 3 sons, Rodney Reese, Roosevelt Moore, and Martez Kemp (Mark), all of Flint, MI; 26 grandchildren: Keenan, Chalynn, Somoya, Kaelin, Kalisa, Angel, Alexis, Desja, Dyeah, Savannah, Ray, Roosevelt Jr, Quatashia, Keiera, Chante, Marisa, Martez Jr., Montez, Daquarius, Dominick, Marcedes, Romina, and Kashia; 49 great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria Kemp of Flint, MI; numerous nieces and nephews; aunts, Annie Peoples, Alice Kemp, Camilla Kemp; and a host of many, many cousins including special cousins, Minnie Young-Weatherly and Larry Kemp; brother in law, Sammie Johnson; special friends, Jada Hairston and very devoted ride-or-die friend, Donna Childress. Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Reese, Howard Kemp and Allean Kemp; grandparents, Daisy Hicks-Peoples and Robert Peoples Sr.; sister, Brenda Kemp-Johnson; brothers, Howard Kemp, Raymond Kemp, Roy Kemp, Ralph Kemp and Antonie Kemp; uncles, James Edward Peoples “Cowboy”, Charles, Green, and Robert Peoples Jr. “Frog”; aunt, Geraldine Peoples-Young. The family wishes to express heartfelt thank to the Hurley Medical center PCU/CCU staff, Cardiologist at Michigan Vascular Center, The Medical Hospice Team especially nurse “Cougar”. Special Thanks to Harris Memorial COGIC ministerial staff and church family. Especially Elder Woodrow Thompson and Sister Veronica Minor for their many visits and unwavering support.
