Mr. Daijohn Marquez Shoemo

SHOEMO, Mr. Daijohn Marquez - Age 20, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022, in Robbinsdale, MN. Family hour 12:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 2nd Chance Church, 2070 W. Coldwater Rd., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM Pastor Derrick Aldridge, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 1:00 PM Thursday. Mr. Shoemo will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Wednesday. Mr. Dai’John Marquez (Popa) Shoemo was born a twin to Erica Wright and Eric Shoemo, Sr, on May 8, 2002 in Flint, Michigan. He was the youngest of six siblings. Mr. Dai’John was a resident of Flint, Michigan where he attended Flint Community Schools. “Popa” accepted Christ at an early age and enjoyed attending Cornerstone Baptist Church Swartz Creek, Michigan. “Popa” held a variety of employment positions which showed his passion for “Getting to the money”. He enjoyed playing basketball and video games, rapping, listening to music, spending time with family and friends and his girlfriend Khamile. “Popa” loved being goofy and making others laugh; but his main joy in life was helping others with his kind and generous heart which will NEVER be forgotten. Mr. Dai’John leaves to cherish his memories: parents, Erica Wright and Eric Shoemo, Sr.; two sisters, (twin) Ladaziona Shoemo and Stacia (Carlos) Shoemo; four brothers, Daquez Shoemo, Marquaveis (Destiny) Wright, Eric Shoemo II, Deonte (Shantara) James; grandmothers, Rita (Danny) Johnson and Gloria (Tyrone) Griffin; three aunts, Juanita (Derrick) Shoemo, Doretha Wright, and Reekeesshion Rush; seven uncles, Darrell Fountain, Gerald (Diamond) Maddox, Dwight Maddox, Artirus Picken, Will Hairston and David Wright; three nieces; Zykirah James, Mircle James and Kyn’nis Summerville; six nephews, Carrion, Caseyion & Camarion Summerville, Hassan Wright, August Shoemo, Zyion Berry; eight great-uncles, Robert Grissett, Sr, Isiah, Ronald, Dempsey, Jerome & Darryl Shoemo, Dawyne Adams, George (Karen) Adams; five great-aunts, Linda Anthony, Beverly Gildersleeve, Berniece Adams, Linda Adams, Felicia (Luthanial) Donalds; a host of cousins including, Robert Grissett, Jr, Mark Gildersleeve, Aaron, Sam & Ray Shoemo and friends with special cousins, Arnasha Wright and Derrick Smith, Jr.; childhood best friends, DaShawn Barry & Donnell Underwood; and good friends, Zach, DeAji, Andre, Dylan & Chris. Mr. Da’John Shoemo was preceded in death by two great grandmothers, Annie Grissett Shoemo & Loretha Adams; two great-grandfathers, George Adams and Isiah Shoemo, Sr.; one grandfather, Batiste Reid; one great-great-aunt, Helen Robinson; one great-aunt, Yvonne Adams; two uncles, Daniel Maddox and Ricky Gray; six cousins, Kenyetta Barnes, Carl Gildersleeve, Shamari Adams, DaeMaris Adams, Deneka Thomas, and Katherine Miles; great-uncle, Charles Shoemo.
