Mrs. Cynthia Worthy

WORHTY, Ms. Cynthia - Age 66, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at her residence. Ms. Worthy will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Wednesday, April 15, 2020 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mrs. Cynthia R. Worthy was born October 19, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Wiley Sr. and Ernestine Catron. Cynthia grew up in Detroit, MI in the Black Bottom Neighborhood in the mid 1970’s. She attended King High School and Wayne County Community College (WCCC). Cynthia was married to Thomas E. Worthy, the love of her life. In 1992, she moved to Flint, Michigan to be closer to her mother. She was a member of the West Carpenter Rd. Church of Christ. Cynthia was a proud resident of Flint, concerned about the improvements they were doing around the city. She enjoyed playing the lottery, Bingo and going to the casino. Cynthia enjoyed spending time with her family, going shopping and trying new restaurants. Her passion was in Home Health Care. She also enjoyed helping her clients back to a healthy state to the fullest. Her work will always be left with her clients and coworkers. Mrs. Cynthia R. Worthy leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Cynthia (Lamar Sr.) Davis of Saginaw, MI, Priscilla (Damon) Harrison and Thomasine Worthy, all of Flint; son, Jermal McCullum of Bay City, MI; grandchildren, Clifford Harris Jr., Lamar Davis Jr., both of Saginaw, MI, Randall Anderson, Shannon Worthy, Dionna Brown, all of Flint, Jaeci, Jalana and Avery McCullum, all of Bay City, MI; great-grandchildren, Lamar Davis III of Saginaw, MI and Julius Greanias of Bay City, MI; parents, Wiley Sr. and Ernestine Catron; 3 sisters, Brenda Catron of Flint, Janet Cotton of Flushing, MI and Monica (Lawrence) Wright of Mt. Morris, MI; 2 brothers, Wiley Catron Jr. of Flint and Martin (Myrna) Catron of San Diego, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; mother-in-law, Vera Mae Worthy of Detroit, MI; 3 sisters-in-law, Rosalind, Shanetta and Janet Worthy, all of Detroit, MI; brother-in-law, James (Charise) Worthy of Warren, MI; a host of other relatives and friends including her best friend, Karen Bell; honorary daughter, Kenya “Key Key” Willingham; and honorary son, Shmar Hearns, all of Flint. Mrs. Worthy was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Worthy; granddaughter, Cynthia M. Worthy; grandmother, Rena Woods; brother, Michael Catron. The family would like to express special thanks to all family and friends who helped us get through this in the background. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic we couldn’t express our feelings like we usually would.
