LAWS, Ms. Cynthia Ann "Cindy" (Roberts)- Age 57, suddenly passed into eternity Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Saturday July 16, 2005 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Alfonso E. Brown, Sr. officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Saturday. Ms. Laws will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 4-8PM Friday. Ms. Cynthia Ann "Cindy" Laws was born on November 30, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Mr. James Roberts and Mrs. Fatima Ali Hodges. Accepting Christ at an early age, she knew God's Word. Cynthia moved to Flint at an early age. She attended Flint Public Schools and was a graduate of Northwestern Community High School, "Class of 1966." She was employed at Fisher Body, S. Saginaw St., until its closing of operation. Relocating to Baltimore, MD, she worked until her retirement in 1993, then returned to Flint, MI. "Cindy" loved to sing, dance, shop, fine dining and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved everybody, especially children, and was known to give children in the neighborhood a stern word of wisdom. Ms. Laws leaves to cherish her memory: son, Robert K.V. Laws, III; daughter, Taji Ann (Laws) Jennings; 3 grandchildren, Ladeju Brown, Tatianna Laws-Days and Xavier Jennings, all of Flint; step-father, Christee Hodges, Sr. of MS; sister, Lisa Anderson of Flint; 2 brothers, Christee Hodges, Jr. of Rochester, NY and James Roberts, Jr. of Columbus, OH; 4 nieces, Chantell, Brittney, Chiona and Nakyah; nephew, Andre; 3 great-nephews, Amir, Nazir and Tasa; aunts, Sharina, Sharon, Joy and Connie; uncles, Nazir and Johann, both of Detroit, MI; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Shirley Malone, Peter Johnson, Ozzie Rideout and Mrs. Liz. Ms. Laws was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. James Roberts and Mrs. Fatima Ali Hodges; and brother, David Eric Roberts.
