Mrs. Cynthia "Candy" Greene

GREENE, Mrs. Cynthia -Age 66 passed away Friday, August 29, 2025, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, September 8, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home at 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 10:00 AM Monday. Mrs. Greene will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed during family hour only. Cynthia Gale “Candy” Greene, age 66, of Flint, Michigan, gracefully entered God’s care on Friday, August 29, 2025. Cynthia was born in Flint to Willie Mae and Wilbert Leander Green. Candy filled her life with love, laughter, and family. She was not only a proud mother to Ammeleo (Shanna) Greene and Unita Greene but also a devoted grandmother to Maeyanna and Cyiona Greene. Candy's legacy lives on through her siblings: Barbara Moore of Greenville, NC, Deborah Greene, her twin, Leander Greene, Christopher (Lee) Green, Mona (Rodney) Patterson, and Tellas (Thea) Green of Flint, Michigan. Her “first-born” nephew, Ken (Shaquan) Greene, and her beloved niece, who she called “my nillia” Cristadia Williams of Flint, Michigan, held a uniquely special place in her heart. Aunt Mary (Sus) Wilson and Uncle Ephriam (Mona) Johnson of Flint, Michigan. Candy also cherished her nieces, Kizzie (Tremaine) Clemons, Atiya (Todd) Machesney, Danisha Greene, and Ashawna Harris; her nephews, Timothy Moore, Levonne (Demika) Green, Antwan (Julie) Greene, Leander Greene Jr., Darwin (Khyli) Smith II, Tellas Jr., Tre’vion, and Tristan; along with a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Candy nurtured deep friendships with Tamara Mason, Lynda Rankins, and Betsy Gail Richardson. Candy’s church home was House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church. With an associate’s degree in medical healthcare, Candy’s commitment to caring for others shone brightly. She retired from Job Corps as a residential advisor and the love that she had for those children was genuinely amazing. Her vibrant spirit and love for playing spades enriched every moment spent with family. Her infectious laugh illuminated every room, and her fierce love for her family will be her enduring legacy. Candy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Wilbert and Willie Mae Green; her sister, Unita Green; and her nephew, Gevonne Green; uncles, Henry (Inez) Williams, Howard Wilson and James Wilson; cousins, Ammeleo “Lil Rell” Wilson Jr., Patrick Williams and Morris Williams.
