BERRY, Mrs. Cynthia Marie "Shaggy" - Age 54, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Brians House. Family hour 11 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at God's City of Refuge, 3202 Forest Hill, with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Pastor Patricia Williams officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Berry will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Cynthia Marie “Shaggy” Berry was born February 1, 1956 in Covington, Tennessee, the daughter of Annie L. (Algie) Evans and James Culbreath. Cynthia graduated Flint Northern High School "Class of 1974" and was later employed by Hurley Medical Center for 10 years before retirement. In October of 1994, she united in marriage with Roland C. Berry. Cynthia enjoyed spending time with her family (Soul Food Sunday’s), going to the casino and crossword puzzles. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Roland C. Berry of Burton, MI; 4 daughters, Tashawnna “Chick”, DeAnka “P-Nut”, Tiffany Culbreath, all of Flint, and Debra "Dee-Dee"Berry of Memphis, TN; 2 sons, Jacen Berry of Memphis, TN and Maurico Berry of Flint; 13 grandchildren including Ciara, Jakiana, DeAir, Danielle, Anthony, Thalion and Mauricio; 3 sisters, Patricia Williams, Linda Rucker and Donna Denton; brothers, Calvin Thompson, Lawrence and Roy Dandridge; aunts, Virginia Rynicki, Elizabeht (Eugene) Evans, Margaret Robinson, Irish Tipton and Patricia Rheaves; uncles, Jimmie (Carol) Wade, McKinely (Leontine) Tipton, Robert Tipton and Leaon (Lillie) Wade; mother-in-law, Geneva Berry; sisters-in-law, Patricia Jones-Berry, Gloria (John) Johnson and Lillian "Pearl" Brooks; brother-in-law, Darris (Linda) Berry; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including Veruncia Bolden and Alison Horne. Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by her mother, Annie L. Evans; father, James Culbreath; granddaughter, Miracle Culbreath-Williams; grandmother, Lucille Tipton; and sister, Denise Evans. The family would like to express special thanks to Select Specialty Hospital at McLaren and Brian’s House.
