BRIDGES, Mr. Coy Jr. - Age 82, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, August 29, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, 4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel Friday, August 29, 2025. Mr. Bridges will lie in state in the Chapel and may be viewed Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. Coy Bridges, age 82, devoted husband, father, grand & great-grandfather, brother and friend, was born on July 6, 1943, in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Mr. Coy & Mrs. Daisy (Parkman) Bridges. Coy began his education at Pinegrove Elementary School in Marion County, MS. and graduated from J.J. Gulledge Memorial High School in 1962, in Tylertown, MS. After graduating from high school, Mr. Coy relocated to New Orleans, LA where he lived for several years. In 1967, Mr. Coy relocated to Flint, Michigan laying the foundation for a life filled with love, laughter, and resilience. Mr. Coy enjoyed antique cars, watching old western movies, hosting events and cooking. Mr. Coy was employed at General Motors Corporation and was a member of UAW Local #659 until retirement. He then became an entrepreneur, owning K&C Frozen Treats & Deli as well as K&C New Orleans Style Snowballs. He accepted Christ at an early age at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Tylertown, MS. And he later attended New Israel Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the Choir and was a member of the Usher Board. On Saturday, August 16, 2025, Coy Bridges transitioned this life surrounded by family and a lot of love. Mr. Coy Bridges leaves in the Lord’s care: loving wife, Minister Jacqueline “Tammy” Bridges; 2 sons, Dwight Bridges Sr. of Texas and Kewon (Nate) Hawkins-Bridges of Detroit, MI; 2 daughters, Nassandra Washington and Coydria Bridges, both of Flint; 8 grandchildren, Dwight Jr. an Jerrell Bridges, Sierre Broden, all of New Orleans, LA, Nicholas Washington, Naceonna Tyler, Ja’Coy Bridges, Romie Spencer Jr. and Olaguan Spencer, all of Flint; 13 great-grandchildren, all of New Orleans, LA; 4 sisters, Nella Wee Brent of Brookhaven, MS, Rosiella Bridges, Daisy Bridges, both of New Orleans, LA and Lula Lewis; brother, Daniel (Naomi) Bridges; 7 sisters-in-law, Cheryl Ann Love, Beverly (Darnell) Hunter, Loria Love, Kenya Love, all of Flint, Barbara and Lashon Love, both of Lansing, MI, and Jeanette Holland of Mumford, TN; 2 brothers-in-law, Thomas Love of Flint and Earnest Holland of Covington, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Coy was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyson Stewart Bridges; parents, Coy Bridges and Daisy Parkman Bridges Mark; 2 sisters, Bonnie (Elijah) Ratcliff and Lillie Brown; 2 brothers, James and C.L. Bridges; father and mother-in-law, Ben and Rachel Love; brothers-in-law, Ben Love Jr., Thomas Holland and Joe Bridges.
