BRIGGS, Baby Boy Cornell Lontrell "Fatman" - Age 6 months, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Royal Priesthood Ministries, 2902 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Pastor Harold and Sherri Britton officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Wednesday. Baby Boy Briggs will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Tuesday. Baby Boy Cornell L. Briggs, Jr. the son of Cornell L. Briggs, Sr. and Janus Barrower was born September 19, 2008 at 3:43 AM, on March 30th 2009 at 2:33PM the golden gates of Heaven opened and received an Angel name Cornell. Cornell loved the short life he had with his family. He started to talk a little bit and laugh a lot. Baby Cornell loved attention and if he wasn’t getting it he made sure everybody knew. He got the nickname “Fatman” because you couldn’t have any food around him. Although he couldn’t crawl he did whatever he had to get some of that food. He would suck on his fingers and toes like it was the best thing in the world and when he couldn’t reach his toes, he would poke his lips out in the cutest way and let out the loudest cry until you put his toes in his mouth for him. “Fatman” had a smile that could light up a room and warm anybodies heart in a instant. Baby Cornell lives on in our minds and our hearts, it may not be in the flesh but his spirit will always be with us. We love you “Fatman” now and forever. Baby Cornell will always have a special relationship with God because he knows no sin only goodness, grace and love. He gave the gift of life so his blessing of life will live on in others. As he sit on the throne with God Baby Boy Cornell L. Briggs, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: Cornell Lontrell Briggs, Sr. and Janus Barrower; grandparents, Terry L. Briggs, James C. Briggs, Pamela James, Jessie L. James all of Flint, and Roy Barrower of California; 3 sisters, Jataeyah Briggs of Flint and Glorilynn Briggs and Kiasha Briggs both of Atlanta, GA; brother, Daquarei Briggs of Flint; 5 special aunts, Aquialla Briggs, Patrina Cabell, Crystal Hughes, Yalonda Parlor all of Flint, and Michele Briggs of Chicago, IL; 8 great aunts, Hedy Snelson, Dentrice Jones, Gen Thomas, Annett Gipson, Thelma Taylor, Betty Presley, Mildred Bell and Catherine Martin: 6 uncles, Jason Barrower, Jamie Barrower, Jessie Jackson, Jeremiah Briggs, Jahmonze Briggs all of Flint, and James Briggs, Jr., of Chicago, IL; 7 great uncles, Willie T. Brown, Roosevelt, Tommy Barrower, Edward Briggs, Rasheed Shriff, Charles Briggs and Phil Young; 5 cousins, Seriyah Barrower, JaQuavion Aubrey, Isaiah Aubrey, Uriah Aubrey, Octaevion Barrower all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Pastor’s Harold and Sherri Britton, Erika and John Jenkins, Ray Aubrey, and Lisa Lee, Pastor Major Stewart of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church family, a very special god daddy, Marcus Jackson, god grandmother, Erinstine Johnson and Armill Jackson. Baby Boy Cornell L. Briggs, Jr. was preceded in death by Jessie L. James, Danajah Briggs, Ivy Thomas, Vanessa Blair, Christine Nelson, Gloria Ramey, Lonzell Blair, Odesa Briggs, Howard Briggs, Sr., Howard Briggs, Jr., Howard Briggs III, Luther Briggs and Ozzy Briggs. The family would like to express special thanks to everyone at Royal Priesthood Ministries, everyone at Micro Gauge, Stacy Carter, 2 very special nurses at Hurley Medical Center Leslie and Lori, Pastor & Sis. Carradine of House of Solomon Missionary Apostolic Church, to all the friends and family that stuck by us in our time of need. We thank you and we love you.
