Mr. Cornelius Rauls Jr.

RAULS, Mr. Cornelius Jr. - Age 75, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Hurley Medical Center. Mr. Rauls will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Friday, December 17, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI, 2:30 PM Monday, December 20, 2021.Mr. Cornelius Rauls Jr. was born October 16, 1946 in Rison, Arkansas, the son of Cornelius Rauls Sr. and Ernestine Sprinkle. Cornelius graduated from Flint Northwestern High School and joined the United States Marines shortly after graduating where he was deployed to Vietnam. After his Honorable Discharge he drove semis for a couple years. He was then got the call from General Motors Corporation where he worked for 32 years until he retired. Cornelius loved Tom Brady and his New England Patriots, but he really loved spending time with his grandchildren, they were his world. He also loved fishing and watching old western movies. Cornelius would help anyone who needed help and he will truly be missed by all that knew him. Mr. Cornelius Rauls Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: son, Cornelius Rauls III; 3 grandsons, Jaeontae McElroy, Roman Copeland and Cornelius Rauls IV; 3 granddaughters, Anjaneice, Reagan and London Copeland, all of Flint; 5 sisters, Joann Martin of Pine Bluff, AR, Katherine Kenebrew of Flint, Beverly (Thomas) Willis, Sandra Whitaker, all of South Bend, IN and Stephanie Whitaker of Clinton, IA; 6 brothers, Clarence Rauls of Rison, AR, James Whitaker of Chicago, IL, Stanley, Ronald and Darryl Whitaker, all of Clinton, IA, and Andre Whitaker of Bensalem, PA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, JoAnn Byrd, Lovie Thomas and all his coffee drinking buddies. Mr. Rauls was preceded in death by his daughter, Samone Y. Rauls; father, Cornelius Rauls Sr.; mother, Ernestine Whitaker; brothers, John and Melvin Whitaker; sister, Jacqueline Rauls-Wells; former wife and mother of his children, Viola Rauls; grandsons, Amir Copeland and Cameron Rauls; and granddaughter. The family would like to express special thanks to everyone who sent prayers and well wished during this time.
