ALLEN, Mr. Cordell W. - Age 43, our beloved husband, son, father, grandfather and friend transitioned to be with his heavenly father Monday, February 21, 2011 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Family hour 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Ebenezer Ministries, 2130 S. Center Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon. Rev. Harry Prince, eulogist, Rev. Kevin Galloway II, officiating, Bishop Urundi Knox, Host Pastor. Interment Flint Memorial Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Allen will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Cordell Allen was born March 4, 1967 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Coy and Burnestyne Allen. Cordell was a resident of Flint Township. He was a member of Ebenezer Ministries. Cordell graduated from Beecher High School, “Class of 1985.” He served honorably in the United States Army for 3 years. He had a passion for his career as a Truck Driver for over 20 years. Cordell was a committed family man. Mr. Cordell Allen leaves to cherish his memory: his dedicated wife, Marcelle Ann Allen of Flint; 3 daughters, Shaneka, Tanisha and Gabrielle; 2 sons, Richard and Cordell, Jr.; grandchildren, Savannah, Veronica, Elijah, Isaiah, Brooklyn, Jaden, Jermaine, Christian, Zamajah, Amiya and Deshon; mother, Burnestyne Allen of Flint; stepmother, Audrey Allen of Duluth, MN; special brothers, Tyrone McCloud, Patrick Redds, Wesley Ulmer, Martin Derrick, Mark Meeks and Dennis Cannon; aunt, Clara Smith of Atlanta, GA; special cousins, J. Anitra Smith Williams, Marlon Smith, Othello (Charles) Gray, all of Atlanta, GA, Jill (Jerome) Wilson, Josephine (Lonnie) Gray, all of Flint, Tracy Jeffries of Ft. Myers, FL and Ann Bratcher of Burlington, NC; mother and father-in-law, Lynette and Raymond Allan of London, England; 2 sisters-in-law, Marlene (Milton) Henry of Brooklyn, NY and Vanessa (Wilton) Bell of Miramar, FL; 2 brothers-in-law, Sean (Juanita) Allan of Queens, NY and Nigel Allan of Orlando, FL; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his father, Coy Allen; uncle, Dean Allen; and brother-in-law, Brian Allan.
