WILLIAMS, Mrs. Cora Mae - Age 79, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008 at her residence. Family hour 10AM Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Southeast Christian Church of the Apostolic Faith, 4171 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Eld. Kenneth M. Brown, Sr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Saturday. Mrs. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10AM-8PM Friday. Mrs. Cora Mae Williams was born on October 13, 1929 in Memphis, TN the daughter of William and Cora Emma McCoy (Fondly called “Little Sister”) by her family. She was the 6th of seven children. She started her early education in Memphis, TN. Her family later moved to Chicago, IL where she furthered her education. It was there she met the love of her life Mr. Henry Williams; they were joined in Holy Matrimony on her birthday. Approximately one year later came their first-born son Wendell Simeon. The family later moved to Flint, MI, for her husband to obtain employment with General Motors. As the years passed they were blessed with six more children. God began to stir her heart after she saw the change in her husband, when he was filled with the Holy Ghost at Bethlehem Temple Church, 918 Spencer Street under the pastorate of the late District Elder Booker T. Scott. Years later the family moved their membership to Southeast Christian Church under the leadership of the late Pastor John A. Brown and current Pastor Kenneth M. Brown, Sr. “She looked well to the ways of her household”.........Prov. 31:27 A devoted wife and mother, very soft spoken, humble, caring and compassionate to everyone that crossed her path. She was a prayer warrior and taught her children in the ways of holiness. She loved the Lord with all her heart; faithful Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, Assistant Secretary of the Sunday School Department and Prayer Band, Baptismal Committee Attendant, Excellent Seamstress making lovely garments for the saints as well as her family; also sewing baptismal garments. Sis. Cora was always found working in the vineyard of the Lord. On Saturday at approximately 2:00a.m., she slipped quietly away, God called her from labor to rest with her children by her side. Proverbs 31:29-31 Mrs. Cora Mae Williams leaves to cherish precious memories her devoted children: Mr. & Mrs. Wendell and Mary Williams of Grand Blanc, MI, Mr. & Mrs.Gideon and Linetta Williams, Mark A. Williams, Benjamin L. Williams all of Flint; 3 daughters, Rose M. Williams, Bethany Williams, Vanessa Bedford all of Flint; 5 grandchildren, Christopher, Jeffery, Michelle, Ebony LaSweece Bedford, Cyrus Nathaniel Bedford all of Flint; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and friends including, special nieces, Sarah, Miasha, Tamika and Amyre Wilson, Mr. & Mrs. Jennifer and Eugene Hall and Mr. & Mrs. Sylvia and Sonny Kelly; cousins, Lucile “Nan” Williams, Laketra, Koryona, Bakea Hagler, Codeonia, Lenia and Markshawn Williams, Marguerite and Lysander Booker. Mrs. Cora Mae Williams was preceded in death by her loving husband Deacon Henry Williams; parents, William and Cora Emma McCoy; mother and father-in-law, Willie and Amanda Williams; 2 sisters, Ella Dee Jones, Anna Eliza Carter both of St. Louis, MO; 4 brothers, Lois “Boost” McCoy of Philadephia, PA; Eddie Frank McCoy of California; Charles McCoy and Ernest Henry McCoy both of Chicago, IL. The family would like to express special thanks to Marguerite Booker, Laketra Hagler, Koryona, Bakea Hagler and Lucille Williams for lending a caring hand; Myrtle Winstead and Delores White, Betty Johnson and Pastor Kenneth and Lady Juliet Brown; the entire Southeast Christian Church family, Christ the Rock and Pastor Wilbert Reed, Jr.; the staff of Hurley Medical Center, Mclaren Regional Medical Center; Visting Physicians - Dr. Jose Paez; Dr. Lynn Wlaker, Dr. Mark Foltz and Pinnacle Home Care.
