Cora Dunn

DUNN, Ms. Cora Belle - Age 71, passed away Monday, October 12, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Friday, October 23, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Friday. Ms. Dunn will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Thursday. Ms. Cora Belle Dunn was born February 14, 1938 in El Dorado, Arkansas, the daughter of Rufus and Nater Dunn. Cora completed her education in El Dorado, AR Schools. She accepted Christ at an early age. Cora later relocated to Flint, MI in 1970. She was a member of New Harris Memorial C.O.G.I.C. Cora was employed at AC Spark Plug/Delphi, a division of General Motors Corporation, retiring after 32 years of service and was a member of UAW Local 651. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Cora enjoyed listening to music, watching TV and cooking. Ms. Cora Belle Dunn leaves to cherish her memory: her one and only daughter, Annie Delois (Charles) Dunn-Johnson; 6 grandchildren, Antonio (Gina) Dunn of Flint, Tisha (Herb) Dunn of Grand Blanc, MI, Darisha (Willie) Dunn, Damascus Taylor, Bianca and Destiny Johnson, all of Flint; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Bertha (Dan) Wiley of Dallas, TX; 3 brothers, Rufus Dunn, Jr. of Flint, Sam (Lula) Dunn, Thomas (Luella) Dunn, Jr., all of Dallas, TX; favorite son-in-law, Donald Johnson; her favorite lost child, William (Angela) Johnson; a host of nieces and nephews; 18 cousins; 3 sisters-in-law;1 brother-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends, Jessie Spencer, Jackie Robinson, Valorie Watson, Mr. Herb Pate, Mary Dunn, the entire Johnson family and the AC Spark Plug/Delphi family. Ms. Dunn was preceded in death by her mother, Nater Waterford; father, Rufus Dunn, Sr.; grandson, Charles Dunn; sister, Christine Washington; brother, Joe Dunn; niece, Evon Dunn; and nephew, Ronald Buckner. The family would like to express special thanks to Delawn Holliday, the staff of Hurley Medical Center, Linda Darby, Dezi Williams, Cheryl McGregory, Sharina Finley, Terrell Leaper and to all who have shown support during this time of our loss.
