JOHNSON, Mrs. Cloddie Mae - Age 77, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Restoration of Bethel Ministries, 1031 Darling St. with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Dr. David Rogers, officiating. Interment Monday, April 14, 2025 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Saturday, April 12, 2025. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed Friday, April 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00PM. Ms. Cloddie Mae Thomas “Grandma” life began on August 12, 1947 in Natchez, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Booker T. Sr. and Dorothy Mae (Shepard) Thomas. Cloddie attended Saginaw High and graduated in the “Class of 1965.” After high school moved forward to further her education as and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Cloddie accepted a job offer to work as AC Spark Plug, a division of General Motors Corporation where she faithfully worked for 28 years until she retired. She was a member of UAW Local #651. A true lover of nature, Cloddie found joy in her garden, where she nurtured a variety of flowers that bloomed as brightly as her personality. Her passion for gardening was evident in the way she tended to her plants, always sharing cuttings and blooms with family and friends, spreading beauty and joy wherever she went. In addition to her love for gardening, Cloddie enjoyed playing cards, movies and often gathering with friends and family for lively games filled with laughter and friendly competition. She also cherished her time skating, embracing the joy and freedom it brought her. A dedicated fan, she passionately cheered for the Michigan Wolverines, embodying the spirit of “Go Blue” in all endeavors. Ms. Cloddie Mae Thomas Johnson leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Rhonda (Elder Edgar) Frank; 2 grandchildren, Taylor Johnson of Flint and Brandon Carr of Glen Burnie, MD; great-grandchildren, Francois, Princess, and Erinn, all of Romulus, MI; god-children, Sani’ya and D’merrius Carter; sister, Brenda Thomas of Saginaw, MI; brother, Booker T. Thomas Jr. of Flint; 5 nieces; 5 nephews; a host of cousins including special cousins, Dorothy Ann Mathious of Saginaw, MI. Annie Thomas of Atlanta, GA, Mark Thomas Jr. (Gennetta) of Idlewild, MI and John (Lucille) Chaffer of Saginaw, MI; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, George (Addie) McNair, Bob (Jerri) Butters, Jerry (Delores) Harris, all of Flint, Joyceann Jones of Saginaw, MI. Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Booker T. Sr. and Dorothy Mae (Shepard) Thomas; brother, Tyrone Thomas; and nephew, Tyrone Hamilton.
