Mr. Clifton Lee Wicker

WICKER, Mr. Clifton Lee - Age 72, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at his residence. Family hour 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Worldwide Harvest Church of the Living God, 3918 W. Blackington Ave. 48532, with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM, Pastor Michael Cross Arthur, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the Church 11:00 AM Tuesday. Mr. Wicker will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Monday. Our beloved Clifton Lee Wicker was born on January 7, 1952 to the union of John Henry Wicker and Ruby Williams at Saginaw General Hospital. In 1954, Clifton attended The Black Mennonite Church in North America in Saginaw, Michigan with his parents, siblings and other family members under the leadership of Pastor LeRoy Bechler. His father John Wicker was dedicated to serving and working in the church and lead his entire family to do the same. Clifton attended Dort Elementary, Emerson Middle School and Northern High School. Because of an unfortunate experience he didn’t graduate from High School or work. In 1974, Clifton and Norma Walker were blessed with a son named Jermaine Walker. Clifton was affectionally known as “Shack”. This was a name he gave to himself. Many people said that Shack was kind hearted and always willing to help others in need, especially when they would bless him with a couple of dollars. He loved his family and special friends who would sit on the porch with him having good fun, fellowship and spirits. He has a special seat in front of the house that only he would sit in. Clifton “Shack” loved his family. His younger cousins they really enjoyed being with him and hearing his jokes and laughter. He will be missed. The following preceded Clifton in death his mother, Ruby Williams Wicker; father, John Henry Wicker, brothers, Oliver Wicker, Sylvester Wicker, Allen Wicker and Marvin Lavender; and aunts, Ellen Arthur and Edna Arthur; uncles, Ruben Arthur, Samuel Arthur, Shep Arthur, and Aaron Arthur. Clifton leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Jermaine Lovel Walker, Flint, Michigan; granddaughter Trinitee M. Walker, Brisbane, Austria; brothers, Curtis (Yolanda) Wicker, Sr. Flint, Michigan, Floyd Lavender, Denver, Colorado, and Donald Ray (Diane) Wicker, Harper Woods, Michigan; sister, Julia Love, Mason, Arizona; sister in laws Rosie Wicker, Westland, Michigan, and Cheryl Wicker, Flint, Michigan, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends and family.
