MORRIS, Mrs. Cleopatre - Age 67, passed away Friday, December 26, 2008 at her residence. Family hour 10AM Friday, January 2, 2009 at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 317 E. Hamilton Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Pastor Derrick Aldridge officiating, Dr. Leroy Shelton Host Pastor. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Friday. Mrs. Morris will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10AM-8PM Thursday. Mrs. Morris was born January 8, 1941 to Russell and Missouri Randle in Lexington, Mississippi. She moved to Flint, Michigan at age 16 under the care of her older brother Ernest Randle. She was a graduate of Flint Central High School. On November 4, 1959 she married Jofus Terry Morris and to this union four children were born. She was employed at Flint Osteopathic Hospital for 27 years, retiring in 1997. She started her walk with the Lord as a charter member of ”House of Prayer Baptist Church”, under the leadership of the late Rev. Charlie Thrower. She continued her journey at “Foss Avenue Baptist Church ” under the leadership of Dr. Avery Aldridge. She finished her course with Christ at “ Second Chance Church ” under the leadership of Pastor Derrick A. Aldridge. The joy of her life was her grandchildren, church family and cooking. She was known for her baking and her caramel cakes were favorites of many. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter Yvonne (Brian) Morris-Matthew; 3 sons, Larry Morris, Kevin (Teressa) Morris, Andre (Eula) Morris; 9 grandchildren, DeWayn (Kristina) Allen, Leneice Proby, Akeeya Gardin, Ryan Morris, Janaye Morris, Kevin Morris II, Brian Matthew II, Jaslyn Morris, Javonna Morris; 6 great-grandchildren, DeWayn Allen II, KaMea Allen, Terrance Sealey Jr., Zaria Sealey, Keazia Peterson, Amyah Woodyard; sisters, Leola Williams, Leola (Booker) Ross; brothers, Joe (Lucy) Randle, Herman (Rebecca) Randle; God Children, Priscilla (Ron) Boyd, David (Dana) Bush and a host of other relatives, and friends including special friends, Mr. & Mrs. Oddie Robinson & family, Ms Faye Robinson & family, Mr. & Mrs. Leon Bryant and the Women of Second Chance. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by husband, Jofus Morris; brothers, Ernest and Harvey Randle; and parents. The family would like to express special thanks to: Dr. K. Ahmed, Dr. S. Saeed, Dr. P. Musson, Tina Smith and Thelma Towner of Home Hospice Advantage. A very special thanks to Doretha Bell for being a loving caregiver to our mother during every stage of her illness.
