WILLIAMS, Mr. Clennon "Doc" - Age 84, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:30 pm. Thursday, August 28, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 p.m. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Williams was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army. Mr. Clemon “Doc” Williams was born August 13, 1930 in Pioneer, Louisiana to Robert Williams, Sr. and Susie Kenner Williams. After growing up on the family farm and graduating from high school, he went on to join the United States Army where he served his country during the Korean War. He was Honorably Discharged and employed at Flint Metal Fabricating, a division of General Motors and was a member of UAW Local #659 retiring after 35 years of service. “Doc” or “Uncle Doc,” as he was affectionately known was the family historian. He recalled family history over several generations. Clemon had an engineer’s mind, and took to computer technology very quickly. “Doc” enjoyed reading several newspapers each day on his laptop computer and iPad. His multiple awards from the City of Flint for his participation and commitment to neighborhood beautification perfectly illustrate his pride in his home and garden. At any time you could drive past his home and find a perfectly manicured yard and vibrant, magnificent flowers. His quiet strength and words of wisdom and encouragement, always perfectly timed and flawlessly delivered, still and always will ring in the hearts and minds of all who know and love him. Mr. Clemon “Doc” Williams leaves to cherish his memory: sons, Kendall B. (Christina) Williams of Clarkston, MI and Keith B. Williams of Grand Blanc, MI; former wife and mother of his children, P. Frances (John) Herring of Panama City, FL; grandson, Ken Williams II of Fenton, MI; granddaughter, Amber Williams; great-grandson, Canaan Williams, both of Flint; a host of other relatives and beautiful friends. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Susie Williams, Sr.; sisters, Aretha, Mildred, Velma, Gussie, Artrie and Susie; brothers, Robert Jr., Cornelius, Lacie, Willard and Lemon.
