BROWN, Mrs. Clarerissa L. - Age 49, departed this life, Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the McLaren Brian's House. Family hour 1PM Monday, September 14, 2009 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 1:30PM, Pastor Lewis Randolph officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church 1PM Monday. Mrs. Brown will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10AM-6PM Sunday. Mrs. Clarerissa Louise Fleming Brown was born on January 23, 1960 in Phenix City, Alabama to James D. Fleming, Sr. and Louisiana Spencer Fleming. Clarerissa accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined the Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she worshipped and was a faithful servant. She was a 1978 graduate of Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama. After high school, she attended Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama and received her Bachelor of Science degree. Clarerissa united in marriage with Mr. Billy R. Brown, to this union 1 daughter was born, Jasmine D. Brown. After marriage, she moved to Flint, Michigan and joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Clarerissa worked as a Case Worker and Eligibility Specialist at the Department of Human Services. She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted husband, Billy R. Brown; daughter, Jasmine D. Brown; 2 step-children, Alicia D. Echols and Andre D. Brown; 2 step-grandchildren, Alexandria Brown and Christian L. Echols, all of Flint; mother, Louisiana S. Fleming of Phenix City, AL; 2 sisters, Geraline (Don) Hicks of Columbus, GA and Celestine Bowers; brother, James D. Fleming, Jr., both of Phenix City, AL; 4 aunts, Essie Haddix of Bedford Heights, OH, Ruth Fleming of New Albany, OH, Lula and Emma Spencer, both of Phenix City, AL; 2 uncles, Willie Fleming of New Albany, OH and Travis Haddix of Bedford Heights, OH; 2 sisters-in-law, Collisteen Evans and Shirley Ann Sanders; 2 brothers-in-law, Jaye Brown and James Sullivan, all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her father, James D. Fleming, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Henderson and Blanche Fleming; maternal grandfather, Charlie Spencer, Sr.; maternal great-grandmother, Louisiana Spencer.; 3 uncles, Otis, Charlie and Calvin Spencer.
