CHANEY, Mrs. Cillia Ruth - Age 74, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Avalon Hospice. Family hour 11AM Friday, November 10, 2006 at New Beginnings Ministries, G-5227 Beecher Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:30AM. Apostle Dana A. Chaney officiating. Apostle Clarence Lewis Pastor. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Friday. Mrs. Chaney will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday. Mrs. Cillia R. Chaney was born May 26, 1932 in Decatur, Mississippi, the daughter of Matthew and Emma Lucille (Thames) McMullan. Mrs. Chaney affectionately known as "The Ambassador of Goodwill" enjoyed her children immensely! She was passionate about helping family and friends whenever she could. She would put others' needs ahead of her own everyday! Cillia loved to cook as a hobby, her hobby also was giving to "People" and mankind. Everyone knew that she loved telling stories about her kids and family. Mrs. Cillia R. Chaney leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Marion Chaney; 4 sons, Steve Taylor, Dana Alan Chaney, Michael Anthony Chaney and Matthew Christopher Chaney; 2 daughters, LaQuantus (Ronald) Cardwell and Yashica Neal; 16 grandchildren, Yuanna Taylor, Nadia Taylor, Kia Taylor, Nikki Mimms, Pasha Chaney, Cydni Chaney, Antwione Morris, Sir Qron Cardwell, Ronald Cardwell, Jr., Romero Cardwell, Raven Cardwell, Racquel Cardwell, Deshaundra Cardwell, Gabrielle Williams, Malcolm Neal and Syrus Davis; 3 great-grandchildren, Bianca Rivers, Bryson Rivers and Bria Holmes; 3 sisters, Helen (Willi) Edwards, Ida Spencer and Delisa (Tyrone) Sweeney; brother, Maurice (Betty) McMullan; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins including Selby (Melvin) Peterson and Vernell (R.J.) French; a host of sisters-in-law including Irene and Marcella McMullan; a host of many other relatives and friends including special friend, Joe "Red" Thompson; special niece and caregiver, Alice White; special son and daughter, Maurice and Debra Cox; best friends, Christine Ashley, Juliette Phillips, Gwen Turner; special niece, Tonya Norman; daughter-in-law, Felicia Chaney; special nephew, Frank Pleasant; and special daughter, Sue (Ron) Bell and family; special friend, Nicole Bradford; and very special nephew, Carl "Boe" McMullan. Mrs. Chaney was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Emma Lucille McMullan; sister, Kay (Dan) Robinson; brothers, John, Walter and J.T. McMullan; grandson, Yuan-Kee Sanders; brothers and sisters-in-law (The Chaney's).
