ALLEN, Mr. Christopher - Age 37, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Monday, April 6, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM, Bro. Steven Newman officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Monday. Mr. Allen will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10AM-3PM Sunday at the funeral home with Memorial Service from 5-8PM at Holy Ghost Church of God In Christ, 801 Addison St. Mr. Christopher Jay Allen was born May 7, 1971 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Robert and Teresa (Brown) Allen. Christopher was a resident of Flint his entire life. He graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1989”. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Latoya Moneek Ampy on September 15, 2004. Christopher loved track and field, football, basketball, playing spades and spending time with his family. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Latoya (Ampy) Allen; 2 sons, JaQuavis Ta’Von Sanders of Flint and Christopher Jay Allen, Jr. of Chicago, IL; parents, Roberta and Teresa (Brown) Allen; 2 sisters, Mary J. and Dionca P. Allen; 4 brothers, Robert L. Jr., Tracy L., Samuel E. and Benjamin H. Allen; 6 aunts, Doris Allen, Marie Allen, Grace Anderson, Pamela Brown, Leali (John) Alexander, all of Flint and Mary Allen of Woodbridge, VA; 6 uncles, John (Jane) Allen, Michael, Kenneth, Eugene, Thomas (Mona), Bruce (Sheali) Brown, all of Flint; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Ampy; 2 sisters-in-law, Misty and Yulanda Ampy; 2 brothers-in-law, Jeffery and Richie Ampy; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Donnie Ray Smith, Mark Harris, Moshay Smith and Jerome Hays. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. John (Ruthel) Brown and Mr. & Mrs. Henry (Henretta) Allen; nephews, Benjamin H. Allen II and Caleb Broach; father-in-law, John Ampy, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Constance (Ampy) Newman.
